We stayed for 7 nights at Yoshidaya fantastic value for money. All staff were very polite & helpful. The room was spacious & lovely and warm. We enjoyed the inhouse Onsen if we didn't venture out to nearby public ones- great way to relax after a day on the slopes. All the meals we had were delicious. Great recommendations for...

We stayed here for snow trip and found it to be a great little Ryokan. The staff were friendly and very helpful about local knowledge. Short walk to the slopes and shops. Rooms are cozy. The onsen downstairs is VERY hot but that's the same for all onsens in the area. Very rustic traditional old style rooms. Heating included. Good...

This is a very comfortable, accessible and friendly ryokan. Walking distance to bus station, gondola, public onsens, and restaurants. Our room was very large, Japanese style. Indoor Onsen very convenient if you don't want to venture out in the cold to the nearby public Onsen. Breakfast both Western and Japanese just fine. Will come again.

This is a really excellent place to stay in traditional Japanese style. The staff are very friendly and kind, especially Chigusa (the manager). Breakfast is excellent - either Japanese or Western style. Unfortunately, I fell and broke my arm while walking in the snow. Chigusa (the manager) arranged for my treatment including taxis to the hospital and back to the...

Yoshidaya ryokan is a traditional style, Japanese accomodation in Zao Onsen. We stayed as a group of 5 friends in two rooms, one sleeping 3 and 2 in the other. The main aspect of our stay was the service. From the moment we walked in the front door until we were given parting gifts after our six nights, nothing was...

Loved this ryokan. The owner was very helpful and spoke very good English. The room was large and very comfortable. It's very centrally located with lots of great restaurants around. The onsen is small but very welcoming. Wifi was free and available in our room. The ryokan was old but very clean, the stairs are steep and narrow. Would stay...

A first time visiting on a winter trip to japan, had been communicating with the ryokan owner for the hotel package with ski and information about Zao. I enjoy the stay at here, with the warm welcome from the ryokan owner and bus stop pick up, at least I and my travel mate are not loss in the town with...

I was our first visit to Zao and it's always a challenge finding a hotel which ticks all the boxes. We miss-hit on a few aspects with this hotel but, when considered with the tariff, I think it's a reasonable place. Personally, we will pay more for more next time. What we like about the hotel is that our room...

We only stayed 3 nights in Zao onsen but will definitely stay here again when we come back. Unfortunately the weather was terrible on the mountain during our stay (of course it was beautiful the day we left) but from what we could see it would of been spectacular on a clear day. The ryokan was a bit of a...

Loved the rooms, with tatamis and futon beds. Yukatas are provided, as well as slippers. Coffee/tea-making facilities in the rooms, as well as a fridge. There is an on-site private onsen, separate for men and women. The water is quite hot but you get used to it and it is very relaxing. The lady who owns the place is extremely...
