The tranquility of this small boutique resort is refreshing, and a great place to getaway to restore your energy reserves! It's the perfect place for a retreat - solo, couple, family, or even group (there are several meeting rooms, as well as a banquet room). From the pool to the beach club; golf to tennis; pool bar to lounge bar; gym workout to relaxing Spa treatments; casual dining to fine dining.....they have it all for you to experience in an intimate boutique atmosphere. There is even a Kids Club for families with children. The food was always very tasty and prepared with high quality, fresh ingredients. If you visit there on the weekend, I HIGHLY recommend at least one dinner at Segundo Piso! It's a must!! The staff were wonderful and friendly. They made me feel at home and were very responsive to my requests. Excellent service all around. I can't wait to return!!

My wife and I stayed here from November 18-21. Check in was smooth and easy, and they whisked us out to our room on the 3rd wing. The room was hardly a suite, it lacked many necessities for certain, and needs updating badly. The furniture was shabby, worn, discolored and dirty. There were only 2 plates, no silverware, only 2 glasses, no coffee cups, (if you wanted to use the coffee maker), light bulbs were out, no soap, no tissues, only one roll of TP, and the safe didn't work and there was rust all around the room. The curtains would not close withing 8 inches of each other, so the sun greeted us daily. The bed was comfortable, and the AC was excellent, on the positive side. The terrazza restaurant was a constant battle, as the menu stated that you could have a side with entrees, and then they always tried to double charge you for it, so then you had to argue about it. At the tables that were outside, the ant problem was awful. I killed at least 75 ants while waiting for my omelet, and when I grabbed a sugar packet out of the holder, there were dozens of ants that came out with it. Gross and unhealthy. The menu was not friendly at all to vegetarians, pretty much grilled cheese, margherita pizza, and a side salad were the only choices for the 2 restaurants. On the positive side, the golf was tremendous. we got lucky both days on the weekend and the sun came out, and the course was wonderful. It's not often you get to play with crocs on about 8 of the holes. There are several great and memorable holes, especially #8 and #17, both par 3 uphill shots over very scary ponds with crocs and turtles milling about. We did not take the shuttle to the beach, regrettably. Driving in the neighborhood is a real challenge, as the roads are simply awful, full of giant potholes, and unpaved sections where your rental car may bottom out, so go very slow and be ready for anything.

It is truly unfortuante that trip advisor has chosen to lump all the different ammenities here under one heading.
The hotel was nice. Although there are no laundry facilities in house. The sports bar was nice but the service atrocious ( and no you may not blame that on "well that's just Panama". La Teraza restauraunt was very good and the sevice splendid. (the restaurant and bar are in the same building. The golf course staff were exceptional, the girls in the clubhouse, the fellas in the customer services and the groundskeepers. The golf course is nice but very challenging in its layout, from an overabundance of traps, both sand and water, to sloping fairways that can make it difficult to stick a shot to unreceptive greens that you cannot hit and stick. The pools are nice and include to pool bars. Lots of chairs spread around. There is a free shuttle to take you to the beach club, a twenty minute walk away, and it has a bar, restaurant, pool many chairs along the beach and lots of sand.

I went to Coronado Luxury Hotel to celebrate my father's birthday. It was great. All the accommodations, attentions and coordination since the beginning. Workers of the hotel helped me to everything since two weeks before, specially Elva Gonzalez. She kept me informed of each details of the celebration and even helped me to choose the menu, area for the dinner and best options. We were a group of more than 15 persons and everyone was pleased. The food was great. The place of the family dinner was also great. Vanessa helped me with the decoration and Eliana the lady that attended us in the dinner also was really kind.

It was a really good celebration. I would totally recommend this hotel.

A group of us played golf then ate poolside after. The golf staff were courteous; the restaurant staff indifferent, the food the worst we had throughout our Panama travels. We had played 4 other courses in Panama, and Coronado pricing is similar but there’s no value …a serious weed problem and to find real grass or a fluffy lie was a challenge. The restrooms on the course and at the “spa” were broken and dirty. We didn’t see the rooms, but didn’t need to because we all agreed we would never return.

I spent a lovely weekend with my wife. The suites were super clean with fruits and champagne on ice at our arrival. The staff was friendly and courteous. The food was fresh and outstanding, particularly the Valentine's Dinner Menu which includes jumbo shrimps, filet mignon and mushroom cream soup. I recommend this place if you want to rekindle your love.

We visited in the shoulder season and pretty much had the whole resort to ourselves! Our room was big, clean and there was a pool literally right outside our patio doors. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Luis in the restaurant was top notch and Navella at the spa gave a superb deep tissue/ therapeutic massage. Very easy to lose a golf ball on the 18 hole golf course as the fringe gobbled them up - but I guess, if you are good enough to stay on the fairway, you wouldn't have a problem. This resort is NOT on the beach. There is a shuttle that will take you back and forth though. The only drawback was the traffic jam going to and from Panama City. It took about 2 hours one way - no matter what time of day or night.

Terrific Stay! The service at the Coronado Luxury Suites is top shelf. The staff knows well how to serve. The pool is expansive and well kept. The breakfast was very fast and basic. But good! We especially loved our room with a pool in front of our patio. You can easily walk to things in the Coronados but the road is gravel and uneven. It was a great stop-over stay.

The room was very nice...spacious and well decorated. The cleaning staff did a good job of keeping the place sanitary and free of mildew and mold in the shower (a hard thing to do in that kind of a climate).

The people at the front desk were curt and rather unhelpful, not a shining beacon of customer service to say the least. The food service staff seemed to lack the ability to accurately fill an order. I ordered a sprite and I got fruit punch instead, that sort of thing.

The biggest issue I had with the resort was that their all-inclusive package was not really all-inclusive. There were limitations on when you could order alcoholic beverages, 1/3 of the menu was off-limits, unless you wanted to pay for those items additionally at the time of your meal. Activities were also additional as well. The only thing that was included in the package (aside from what you would pay normally to stay there) was 3 meals (however restricted the menu was) and periods of free beverages during the day.

Overall, I would not return to the Coronado Golf & Beach Resort in Coronado, Panama.

This resort is very run down, the only reason it is still in business is that there are not yet too many competitors. The golf course is in terrible shape. The carts have no front or side covers, not even covers for the golf bags to protect against the weather. We played when they had just aerated the greens, and they literally left the scraps on the greens so that we could not even putt on 7 of the holes. Truly one of the worst courses we have ever played. Other than during high season, they resort is almost empty. The only people who go there are "members" who have been there for 20 years or so, but good luck to them in finding new business. The Decamaron Golf Course is 20 times better.

Panama's official currency is the Balboa, which is 1:1 with the U.S.dollar. Panama's official money has only coins which run together with US coins. People has both Panamanian and US coins in their pockets and use them indistinctly at the same time. Panama's paper money is the U.S. dollar. All prices are in US dollars. There are several 1st class golf resorts in the country. In Panama City, Summit Golf Resort has it's own hotel inside the court. Several beaches have golf resorts, probably the best one being Buenaventura, which is a 5* world class resort and prize winning golf court. It's located about 2 hours away from Panama City and it's beautiful. Also Bijao resort, at about 1.5 hours from Panama City, is a very good facility with a nice golf court. If you like to play golf in the the mountains instead of the beaches, Valle Escondido, in Boquete Valley, at about 800 m over sea level and 6 hours away by car (1 hour flight in 1st. Class jets) from Panama City, has a nice & well designed 9 hole golf court.
