I am not the one to generally write a review but this one was a must. I had a great experience at Abundance. I visited Auroville with four other friends from the USA. Selvam, the host, and Ganesh took the best care of us and ensured we were comfortable. They both went the extra mile to help us get scooties and cabs and even provided us with bicycles free of cost! The breakfast was served warm and healthy, and everything about our stay was very well managed even though we visited the place right after the recent cyclone. Selvam and Ganesh were the best part of our stay. A 10/10 for hospitality and care. I am staying here every time I visit.

We've been to Auroville several times, but this trip has been the best - thanks to Abundance Guest house. Since we were traveling as a family, I was keen for our guest house to be near eateries, accessible from the road, etc. On a friend's suggestion, spoke to Manju who runs the place with her husband Selvam, and booked two rooms immediately.
This is a small guest house with 8 rooms, built as 4 units of two rooms each. They gave us one unit, and the rooms and bathrooms are spacious and well appointed.
Their small outdoor cafeteria is open for a decent breakfast and has a small library too.
The best part is the location - they're just 2 mins away from Auroville bakery and the main road which has dozens of excellent restaurants, plus several specialty restaurants. Travel to Matrimandir and Visitors center takes 10 mins.
We stayed for 5 days and it was totally worth it 👌🏼

Heard about Abundance from Tara who lives in Auroville, and reserved my stay with help from her and my sister, for six nights in August 2023. I arrived from the US via Chennai (where I was for a week) by car along the East Coast Rd which was a three hour ride. Manju was expecting me and checked me in right away, and sent me the wifi information, breakfast times, etc by WhatsApp. The room I stayed in was lovely, with AC and a nice bathroom, and it was clean and had a little space with chairs at the back. The wifi worked well, the breakfasts were wonderful, prepared by Selvam and his helpers. The breakfast menu was varied and delicious with local bakery bread, well prepared coffee/tea, omelettes made fresh, and excellent south Indian dishes.

They were very helpful with information about local places to visit; downtown Pondicherry was just 6 km away and there is much to see and experience.

Power went out sometimes, but the backup systems worked well. The bed was comfortable, and the room had a desk and chair. The armchair was a slightly peculiar design and hard to get out of if you ventured to sit down. The hot water worked fine in the bathroom for the shower, though I was surprised not to find it in the bathroom sink. The lights in the room were very good, and there were plenty of power outlets for chargers and laptop.

I stayed in Abundance for a week and my stay here was downright heavenly (10/5 💞)
The guest house has a beautiful courtyard where one can see fireflies , butterflies , squirrels and all sorts of beautiful creatures and that is perfect for an early morning Yoga practise! 🧘‍♀️
Around the courtyard , there are eight beautifully furnished rooms , each with a private balcony, clean bathroom and cozy and comfortable beds. It's quite a bliss to wake up to the sounds of birds chirping every morning (I was waking up at 05:30 every morning 😁) . Also, the place is at a walking distance from the famous Auroville bakery and also a lot of other renowned restaurants and cafes like Tanto's Pizzeria, Marcs coffee etc in Auroville. So, one can explore quite a lot on foot as well.
The hosts (the highlight of the place 😊), Manju and Selvam are beautiful, kind souls who are available round the clock and ready to extend any help or support that the guests may need. I hurt my knee and Manju was always there to tend to my wounds and to talk to me whenever I felt low. I asked Selvam where I could rent a bicycle for a morning ride and he offered me to take his!
Also, Manju and Selvam manage everything in the guest house themselves (NO MANAGERS ✅). Manju makes amazing idli , dosa and vadas for breakfast. She cooks passionately for her guests and that reflects in the taste. She also makes delectable jams and Hibiscus juice 😋 I love how everything in the guest house has a personal touch, even the walls of the rooms are adorned by Manju's craftwork. ❤️
I was quite touched by Manju and Selvam's hospitality and warmth and left the place feeling joyous and satisfied. Needless to say, I would keep coming back to this place ☺️
Also, I would like to add that there is lush greenery everywhere, not just inside but outside the guest house as well. It has beautiful trails for running to the left as well as right so I would definitely recommend the visitors to get some runner's high! All in all , abundance lives upto its name 💕

A very satisfactory stay. Good, freshly made breakfast, green and quiet all around.
A few places to hang things in the room, and not only in the bathroom, would have been very handy.
I wanted a long stay, of almost two months, but a discount of just 10% was too little so I had to go elsewhere for the entire length of my stay.

Mattress excellent firm w soft overlay...back was happy on this mattress. Pillows small and soft. Perfect size. Great lighting in room for night reading. Homemade jams to die for along side yummy breakfast each more. Lovely homemade traditional dishes with selection of breads(even butter) I loved the peace. The green foliage. But most of all our hosts and lovely, kind, smart staff. It's a must if you are looking for perfect Auroville experience.

Going by the first appearance, this place is tailor made for somebody looking for peace, quietness amidst nature. The real jubilations comes when you stay and get blown away by the hospitality of the host couple, Manju and Selvan. Can spend hours talking to them, listening to their experiences, their enthusiasm, their "auroville" outlook of life, their creativity and designs, and all these while you gorge on the most delicious dishes cooked right in front of you by the host couple themselves. From delicious daals, to sumptuous tuna sandwiches, to terrific thai yellow curry, to pleasing pastas to soothing south indians, ...then hibiscus juice, handmade jams made from fruits from their own trees, the list goes on and on.

Do checkout their collections and recommendations for some good experiences and stuffs like souvenirs and crockeries and handmade soaps, etc.

Take a morning walk around the area to fill yourself with freshness of foliage around and might spot a few White-bellied Treepies if you are lucky.

Already checking when we can plan a revisit here.

I don't think I'll ever find correct words to express my stay at this wonderful place, which lived up to its name. Here, you'll find everything in abundance - love, hospitality, and care.
Manju and Selvam are wonderful people who happen to be the best hosts who'll make sure to treat you with the true spirit of Auroville.
A must-visit for everyone looking for the finer things in life, where one is soaked amidst nature and sustainable living.

Can't wait to go back!

Abundance guesthouse we highly recommand. The owner himself and his wife are both born in Auroville.
They build a beautiful guesthouse in a kind of modernistische design around a beautiful garden. It is very well maintained.
The guesthouse is close to the Auroville Bakery.
