While I didn't like everything about this hotel there were enough positives to give it this rating. My large Japanese style room looked directly across the water and had a magic view. Once the day trippers went home it was peaceful and beautiful. The kaiseki dinners were superb and served by a delightful waitress who spoke English really well. The...

A ryokan type of hotel but larger than we had expected. The rooms are furnished in traditional Japanese style with low tables and chair backs to assist you while sitting directly on the floor. These are moved to one side in the evening when the futons are laid out for sleeping. Most of our group found this a bit uncomfortable...

Walking up to the hotel, I was initially impressed with its appearance and was feeling kinda positive, but that immediately changed during check-in for two reasons: 1.) The first person to greet us basically ignored me and kept trying to address my Japanese friend, even though she was clearly behind me (and staying in a different hotel). I'm somewhat used...

I stayed one night with my family. The room was clean and spacious and we could see Itsukushima's Trii from our room. Dinner was served in our room. It was multi course, traditional Kaiseki style dinner, emphasis on local ingredients and everything was delicious. Their breakfast was buffet style and there were big variety of food. Japanese traditional omelet and...

Overall, a very nice way to experience a traditional Japanese ryokan. We were on a family vacation with my two young sons (9yo & 13yo) and this was so different than anything they had experienced before. The hotel location is great - maybe 100m from the ferry station and right at the start of the shopping area and perhaps 200m...

The hotel was very clean and tidy, if a tiny bit dated in its furniture. The onsens on the top floor were lovely, with a beautiful view out over the water. The breakfast was very pleasing, with a wide range of food to choose from. Most of all they had the comfiest futons I slept on in my whole trip.

We stayed in an ocean view room for 2 nights in January 2016. I requested a room on a high floor and we were given room 301, which was the highlight of our trip: - Room: Japanese style with tatami mats and futon, and an adjacent bathroom with separate shower room. We had an amazing view out to sea and...

My husband and I stayed here during our honeymoon. We were here for two nights. They were two of the best nights we had while traveling Japan. Perfect hotel location, not to mention the views of the water from our room?! It was perfect. By far the most "honeymoon-esque" place we stayed. The kaiskei dinner included both nights was out...

Me and my family stayed in this hotel for one night during our holiday in Japan. The hotel is facing the sea, with views of the mainland. It has no direct view of the Itsukushima shrine, which we really appreciated, however, the shrine and the Jinja are just 10 minutes walk. Dinner is a typical Japanese meal, especially seafood, appreciable...
