The hotel was very clean, as expected. It is quite close to the airport, perhaps a 10-minute walk. The staff (as with pretty much all hotel staff in Japan) were outstanding.
Also as with pretty much all hotels in Japan, the room was small.

Free buffet breakfast was very welcome (though not exceptional in itself).

Perfect for a 1-night stay near the airport, if the price is right (which it was for us).

First time travelling to Nagoya and stayed a night at this hotel while in transit. Room is small for one person but functional. Bed was surprisingly big for one person. There was a bath tub in the shower which would be ideal if you want to have a nice soak in it. Breakfast was provided which had a decent spread.

Nagoya is only 40 minutes from the airport by Myu-sky Express train, so it would normally be possible to get there on the day of departure, but with a 6:30 am flight, the Toyoko Inn is ideal. Its fairly characterless and the furthest from the airport itself, but neither are a problem at all--it has everything you need for a comfortable stay.

To get there is a barrier-free 10 minute walk from the airport hall. Most of it is covered but the last bit is open and very dark, so wear appropriate clothes if the weather is bad. There is a free shuttle bus too, which takes about the same time.

The room is actually reasonably spacious by Japanese standards, and the bathroom quite large. There are plenty of power outlets and USBs to charge up all your devices before flying, which is a nice bonus.

One thing to note is that breakfast starts at 6:30, so I wasn't able to partake as I had to take the 6am bus. The handy convenience store next door wasn't open either, though it's easy to get breakfast in the airport.

Overall, it was just what I needed and the price was unbeatable.

Surprisingly amazing place to stay! Overall Hotel is beautiful, friendly & helpful staff.
Honestly, 5 min walk to the airport (they also provided Free Shuttle Service to the airport), 2 min walk to the 7 Eleven store. Oh yeah, Delicious Free Buffet Breakfast!
The Front employee (Mr. Matsushita? i believe that was his name) checked me into the highest floor with incredible breathtaking views-Ocean/bridge/sunrise/sunset.....)
He obviously knew i wasn't Japanese & that i can barely speak it (lol) but was very friendly and helpful. Thank you, Arigato Gozaimashita.

The Chubu Centrair Airport artificial island contains two Toyoko Inn's next door to each other. This one (the "No. 2") is larger and a little further away from the convenience store and the terminal building. It has a self-service check-in facilities but, as of December 2019, still the old-fashioned sheets and brown quilted blankets which the entire Toyoko chain used to have everywhere. The building's mammoth size means it needs a courtyard to let some sunlight into the inner guestrooms, although the windows cannot be opened at all, so any and all fresh air must come from the air conditioner. And the hotel's courtyard is not particularly attractive, so it makes for a very forgettable view. The breakfast room is a completely different matter -as the photos show, it is situated on the first (above ground) floor and it commands some rather pleasant views of the surrounding neighbourhood, including the airport proper, something which should not to be taken for granted at all with Toyoko's. I would not stay in again or recommend this particular Toyoko Inn. Yes it does make it a lot easier/possible to catch an early flight out of Nagoya airport, but the old-style sheet-and-blanket bedding (as opposed to duvet) is in my opinion less than hygienic and the courtyard view depressing.

In terms of the airport hotel choices for Centrair, of which there are a few, this is probably the poorest. Small, cramped rooms (not great at all if you have suitcases), thin walls, smelly rooms, and water which becomes incredibly hot for with a tiny change in your turn of the knob. My baby son’s hand was half-scolded by the water which we had on the middle setting thinking that’d be halfway between hot and cold, but turned out to be very hot. In fact the choices for water temperature for the bath/shower were cold, very hot or scolding hot.

The other problem is that it is a little bit away from the airport, so in the middle of summer the walk there isn’t fun. There is a bus but it wasn’t easy to catch from the airport. It was better from the hotel, but it’s not the biggest bus so you’re not guaranteed to catch it during busy times.

There were a few positives. The front desk staff member who greeted us was friendly and kind, and the breakfast staff were helpful. The bed was comfortable enough.

Overall, I’d say if you’re single and staying for one night it might be OK. If you’re a family, group or couple, it is inadequate and you should look elsewhere.

The Toyoko Inn here is also expanding on the line. I didn't have any expectations from the beginning. I wouldn't have stayed there if it wasn't for the nationwide support. But what was even worse was that, according to Aichi Prefecture's policy, I had to go to the front desk every morning to get a coupon and give my personal information such as my room number. I was asked to sign every time. Every time I did that, I was subjected to moral harassment. I couldn't understand how they could be so rude to customers. Their bad personalities were completely exposed. I didn't want to see your faces every morning or meet you. I only had unpleasant feelings. I couldn't stand being stared at every time there were so many of us. Breakfast was also made by violent old ladies who looked like gangsters, and it was chaos. Well, it wasn't tasty. It was all pre-made. The old ladies treated it as they pleased because it was someone else's. How can you call it tasty? I was a little angry when I thought that those old ladies were polluting society. If there was a man in front of them, it would be a one-hit wonder. During breakfast, there were Toyoko Inn employees (older guys) in uniform working in the lobby. I thought that was definitely not right and didn't like it, but I warned them. I could see them giving me sexually harassing looks. But they still stayed there, so I asked them to leave. I wonder if there is an office in the back. The facility manager was spreading out blueprints. I don't want to eat breakfast in the lobby while watching Toyoko Inn employees working. It's just too rude.
