There is a convenience store on the other side of the intersection from the hotel, so it is convenient.
The hotel is relatively new and spacious overall.
I went to the front desk on the first floor to check in...the front desk staff were generally very friendly.
I was given a card key and breakfast voucher and headed to my room.
The room was spacious (I was in a twin room for single use), the bathroom and toilet were normal, the amenities and other facilities in the room were also normal, and the slippers were not disposable.
The bed was normal, the nightgown was a robe, and the pillow was generally good.
The large public bath was on the first basement floor (there is only one large public bath).
Breakfast was a buffet with a decent variety.
It seemed that most of the hotel staff and guests were from neighboring large countries.
The town is dead. There is nothing around. Restaurants are also few and we had trouble finding dinner.
Checked in on Nov 4 2023. Room (1004) was blowing hot air. Front desk's response was "clusters of rooms share a temperature system so if one room switches on the heater, the other rooms in the cluster would not have air-conditioning" - an utterly unacceptable situation. Front desk refused to do anything about it and the person on duty said "I have no answer for you" when I requested for solutions. Persuaded him to visit my room; that's when he agreed that it was hot and offered to provide a fan, an offer I rejected. Asked to speak to hotel manager but he refused to see me. It was only after being told that I would commence legal proceedings against the hotel did front desk reluctantly moved me to a room with air-conditioning that works. Next morning at breakfast, with busloads of people in a feeding frenzy, I learned that this is a hotel on contract with tour groups, hence the laxity in standards. The hotel's only saving grace is its proximity to a train station. Spring Sunny Hotel Nagoya Tokoname operates more like a dorm, not a hotel.
Not too far from the airport and aeon mall Tokoname.
For the price it was an excellent value and I would recommend the Hotel AU to friends needing a Nagoya airport stopover.
"Best to avoid unless at breakfast, you want to be fighting for coffee with a hundred other yelling tourists from tour buses."Read full review
"Loved being on the top floor. Breakfast was mainly japanese style with a couple of western offerings."Read full review
"Don't order a smoking room unless you like to sleep in a gas mask and don't order a double if you're booking for 2 men who are not gay! You need a twin! Cyril, if you make this mistake again there may be worse consequences than your shame being saved on here for posterity!"Read full review
"Nice views on higher floors. Be specific if you want or do not want a Japanese-style room (floors 14 and 15)"Read full review
