My partner and I stayed here for a Saturday night as we were visiting the local vine yard. We arrived very early and the staff were more than happy for us to park up and have a cup of tea before moving onto the vine yard, the reception staff even booked the taxi for me. On returning the staff were...

This was a great contrast to chain hotels, individual and characterful. My bedroom with its heavy 'old fashioned' drapes was excellent and quiet. Downstairs, the big bar-restaurant was busy and friendly and well run by friendly and efficient staff. And the hotel has a wonderful position on the banks of the Severn opposite Attingham Park.

A lovely looking Hotel, with pretty gardens bordering the River Severn. Opposite is the main entrance gate to Attingham Park (National Trust), behind is the beautiful interior of St Eata's Church. The room I had was on the top floor on a corner, overlooking the gardens and lovely bridges and the front window over Attingham Park entrance (Room 5, Cressage)....

stayed for one night, and have to say my room (in the stable block) was lovely...... staff were very helpful and attentive. Being able to sit outside, or in the covered courtyard (on comfortable sofas) was most enjoyable on a warm summer evening. Food was good, but not outstanding. Had a couple of decent real ales on tap (Shropshire Gold,...

Love this place! 5 mins out of Shrewsbury by taxi. If you are coming back to the hotel late then make sure you have a key to get in. Great rooms, full of character. Right next to the river, with a beautiful place with a bench to sit by and drink prosecco!! Would recommend 100%.

We stayed at the Mytton Mermaid for a wedding and whilst we had a beautiful day with family and friends, we wouldn't recommend the hotel for an overnight stay. The rooms were incredibly dated, smelt damp and were generally in need of some TLC. In the morning we had to report a sewage smell in the bathroom and an injury...

Went for afternoon tea, had to share a long table with bench seating when other tables were empty. Table positioning in a crowded bar area not clever as kept getting buffeted by those going to the bar and sadly the food wasn't very exciting, three boring choice of the sandwiches, dry tartlets and cakes you wouldn't have a wow over....

I had Jessamyn fantastic things about the Mutton and Mermaid over the years however my experience was far from fantastic. I was very much looking forward to celebrating a family members wedding. Customer Service: The newly married couple did not once get congratulated by staff. When asking members of staff a simple question or request, myself and the wedding party...

Hotel looks good from the outside. Our room (Wroxeter) was comfortable and the bathroom a nice size and clean. The stairs are very steep and narrow so would not suit everyone. The food was excellent - a good chef! The waiting staff not so good. Found some of them to be less than helpful. The restaurant is open to the...

The room was really lovely. Clean & new. HOWEVER, there was a wedding on. Our room was practically next to the disco. We have a 2 year old. It was less than ideal. Then, the breakfast. Cold bacon sandwich on really poor bread. A croissant that tasted like actual death (think they'd glazed it with old fat). The resturant needed...
