Beautiful setting, old school country hotel on the banks of the river. Right across the road from Attingham Park (National trust) with the beautiful deer walk. Fabulous breakfast, and a bargain midweek.

Called in after visiting Attingham Park for lunch. Husband had the Halibut which he thought delicious and very well presented and I had scallops, also delicious. The bar staff and waiting staff were quick and courteous but didnt make us feel rushed at all.Its been a couple of years since we last visited here but plan to come soon for...

We discovered this characterful pub some time ago en route home from Shrewsbury and called in for lunch. It is necessary to book ahead if you have any chance of being seated in the restaurant area, there are bar seats available but these are limited. Its in a nice setting close to the river, nice decor wooden floors etc. We...

We diverted on our way back from Norwich to Shrewsbury to have lunch at the Mytton Mermaid. I asked for the goats cheese starter without the syrup. I was told by the young waiter that he would ask the chef and it may not be possible. My husband asked for the steak ciabatta with the steak cooked medium. The waiter...

Celebrated my birthday in the Restaurant. We didn't have a starter just a main course due to our late lunch. My small Caesar salad with a portion of chips was very good. The salad had plenty of chicken and anchovies. My sister had the fish and chips and she commented on the really nice white fish. Desserts included rhubarb and...

Three of us came for lunch. all ordered fish finger sandwiches and fries. the sandwiches can best be described as a bit pathetic and sad - very poor value for money. Small pieces of limp bread, hardly any filling, tiny bit of salad. Shame as service was good and atmosphere lovely but why they insist on littering the place with...

Beautiful hotel and lovely views over the river and walks in the area (opposite Attingham park). We stayed overnight as we were attending a wake there. The bedroom was quite small and cluttered but possibly it was the last room as only booked 2 days before and it was an excellent rate! The hotel, bar and restaurant looked roomy and...

Having visited the Wroxeter Roman vineyard we stopped here for lunch. It was very busy due to a wedding, but we were able to find a table. The service was spot on and the snack lunch was excellent, we chose the turkey BLT and the Mediterranean vegetable bagel.

Chance lunch with friends, food good but staff need a little polish. i always think the the sign of a really professionally run establishment is the speed with which you can catch a waiter/ress's eye, why do they walk passed and not look at the clients, just a little thing, one shouldn't need to shout or worse whistle.

Stayed here for two nights. So much more than we were expecting. Stayed in the Mytton Suite which was absolutely spotlessly clean. Bed was comfortable, room spacious, tea and coffee making facilities available, Hotel on the corner of fairly busy country road but ideally situated for walks and country park and access to major towns. Road noise not excessive in...
