Recommend waiting until new management has had some months to fix. Rotted porch, electrical shorts, 1/2 lights dead in common room, leaking sinks, leaking roof into room, erratic to the point of mostly unusable internet, leaking toilets, hot water taking 20 minutes to reach the room, trash on back porch preventing access to doors, hot tub shut down, window screens...

Bottom line, our stay at the Snow Bear in Taos Ski Valley was great! The rustic yet modern feel of the unit, the somewhat isolated location and overall vibe of the place were all well suited for a ski holiday. The units are true "ski in", but only technically "ski out". You must ride two beginners lifts to get to...

I visited Taos ski valley one time in 2001 and was amazed at how much it grew. I wasn't sure where to stay so I called the Chamber and they recommended the Snow Bear to me. It is a charming condominium complex and we stayed in a very comfortable charming room facing the mountain. I really felt relaxed and that...

I stayed here while the people who own the uppermost suite were in residence. Thanks to the lack of insulation in the floors or any carpeting and the fact that they were constantly moving their furniture, chasing their dog, and marching around in wooden shoes, I never got any sleep. The doors in the entire place stuck, so it sounded...

We stayed here for spring break with some of our family. Cons: While trying to reserve the room I noticed the operation seemed to be a little bit of a cluster becuase I couldn't get them to run my credit card and send me confirmation, but finally after a few weeks got it done. At arrival it took longer to...

Light! The place is dark. Add some lamps and task lighting and the Chamonix unit will be a much better place to stay. The lighting was either too blindingly harsh or non-existent. in the kitchen and the coffee/pantry area above the dishwasher. The location is good. Parking is a little tight. I slept on the Murphy bed and it was...

I stayed at the Snow Bear Inn over the Thanksgiving weekend in the Vail unit. It was great! It is a true ski in ski out condo. The owners Christian and Donna were very helpful and wonderful to us. The snow at Taos was perfect. We plan to go back soon.

We were two couples renting Breckenridge Front on the third floor (a pretty awkward climb wearing ski boots), which consisted of a central living room/dining room/kitchen and two bedrooms, one off to each side. When we arrived, the road up to the condos was so slick, we could not make it up the hill. Nowhere did it say a four-wheel...

Christian H, General Manager at Snow Bear Condos, responded to this review

First off, I would like to say that the Snow Bear Condos is sorry that this customer felt they experienced so many problems and we would like to address all of these issues A four wheel drive vehicle is not a necessity at the Snow Bear except after a big Snow Fall and even then, we have a shuttle that...

Short and sweet: The Snow Bear is a neat little lodge very close to the Children's Ski School at Taos. There are probably more luxurious properties with greater amenities out there, but the direct ski-in access, updated rooms and personal service cannot be beat. Donna and Christian could not have done more to make sure our stay was enjoyable and...
