Royam Hotel is lauded for its spotless environment, with guests repeatedly commending the immaculate beaches and gardens. The rooms, known for their cleanliness and coziness, are sometimes described as compact and in need of a refresh. While the value proposition delivers on amenities for many, a few visitors mention that service can lag.
The lively ambiance, accentuated by live music and entertainment, contributes to an atmosphere ideal for unwinding. Amidst critiques of service inconsistencies, the friendliness and professionalism of the staff often shine through.

We booked the Hotel Royam in mid-January with short notice because we desperately needed sun, blue skies and warmth. We enjoyed every moment in this beautiful complex with many trees, colorful bougainvillea hedges. The accommodation in the round cabin was very pleasant and appealing. Nothing was missing here (hair dryer, fridge, large cupboards etc) and thanks to the fine mesh fly net in front of the windows, the usual troublemakers were actually missing at night. I have to emphasize the excellent food at Royam Hotel. A rich breakfast buffet partly with service left nothing to be desired. The menu at the beach restaurant is small but fine and offers various salads, exotic delicacies or the well-known Club Sandwich. Dinner – usually a 3-course meal – was outstanding and the fish buffet one evening of the week left nothing to be desired. The tables were nicely set with white tablecloth (a must for me) and a mini baobab and the musical accompaniment was very pleasant and not disturbing when eating. Although the hotel was fully booked, we found two free sunbeds in the front row on the beach every morning after breakfast! The staff is very friendly. Everyone greets and smiles briefly. The service should sometimes go a little faster. All in all an excellent hotel, which I can recommend without any reservation and to which I will gladly return.

We stayed here one night and enjoyed a luxurious complex of upscale rooms, grounds, amenities, and services. The lobby opens to The pool areas surrounded by poolside open tables and covered area tables with full bar and breakfast buffet, lunch, and dinner buffet. Food is excellent quality with excellent presentation. Sea urchin for dinner buffet complemented a huge grill of shrimp, cordon bleu, salmon, and more. The grounds are impeccable with lots of trees in a maze of cottages, mostly conjoined with done independent and 1 ocean suite with private pool and beachfront view The kids area offers swings, and games. The beach area is full of thatch umbrellas over recliner chairs and towel service. People who provided exceptional service include AMY NOONG, SIDY, and FARY Full bars in pool area and on beach Excellent room amenities with AC, TV, walk in shower, and shampoo, Fitness room offers a beach view Spa offers massages and services at good rates The complex is challenging to negotiate even with the map

We had a 7-night stay at Le Royam. First time and very pleasantly surprised. Compared to the resorts we usually frequent, this hotel is on a human scale, which is very pleasant. It has hut-shaped rooms, 2 per hut, all located in a magnificent park with trees and flowers. A swimming pool is located in the middle of the hotel and meals are served outside, around it. Besides, we ate very well throughout our stay. In terms of service and staff in general, everyone is super nice, considerate, always available and showing extreme kindness. Like the Senegalese in general. We had some particularly great people, Oussmane, Omar and Afietou serving and Paul at the beach bar. A big congratulations and thank you to them. The two saleswomen who run the shop are also extremely kind and super gracious and smiling. In terms of beach, the hotel has a beautiful one, two rows of deckchairs, under straw parasols and coconut trees. All in ocher sand dotted with thousands of shells. Everything, being clean, well maintained and for those looking for calm, it is the perfect place. Congratulations to management and staff. Well done, great job. I made a promise, that one day we will return, because you have won us over. Thank you for everything.

We had a great time at the Royam Hotel and enjoyed the traditional architecture of the huts and the lush vegetation, there was even a baobab. Cleanliness is impeccable, including on the hotel's private beach. The employees were seen sweeping the beach and picking up any garbage, which made a real difference to the beaches in nearby settlements that were not as well maintained. The staff at the hotel is of exceptional professionalism. The receptionists are also highly educated and speak several languages fluent in English and Spanish in addition to French. The staff at the restaurant Le Calao also deserve a mention because they were very quick to take orders despite the crowd of customers at dinner. The food was for the most part very good, for example we ate much better lasagna than in Italy! I also enjoyed breakfast served as well as dinner by the pool with palm trees as a backdrop. Jam and bissap juice were exceptional. The beach restaurant is also a must. We also enjoyed the mosquito nets in the room. Very good wi-fi connection, I was able to work on my laptop even on the beach. The hotel guests are very civilized. Only negative but ultimately nothing very serious: there is a kind of varans and lots of lizards that roam freely, so it is better to take a room upstairs like, what I did by the way.

3 weeks in a little corner of paradise, that’s how to define our stay in Royam, Tastefully renovated rooms in huts located between a large beach of coconut trees and perfectly maintained lush gardens, comfortable bedding, cleanliness and impeccable service. The new management with Delphine and Romain, keen to always do better, is very attentive to customers and we find that this year (we have been coming for 15 years) there are lots of new good ideas in decoration, in entertainment such as aquagym with the very friendly Sophie without forgetting the setting and the welcome of the beach bar/restaurant! Thank you to the entire management team and staff for making us feel so good and see you soon!

Led by a team of real professionals, the ROYAM goes upscale from stay to stay. In a superb well maintained site, everything is done to make you spend a quiet and soothing stay in clean and welcoming accommodation. The restaurant ensures a quality service with varied dishes very well cooked. The main bar and beach bar serve your favourite cocktails while enjoying a variety of musical entertainment in the evening. The strength of the house: the kindness of our Senegalese friends, whatever their function, who go out of their way to solve every little problem and to make your stay a moment to remember.

Hotel with luxury pretensions in the tourist area of Saly. Spectacular reception at the reception, if you pay cash in euros will apply particularly disadvantageous rates (1 to 625 instead of 1 to 655). So better to pay in CFCA or by credit card. The de luxe sea view accommodation, as well as all the others, is in small but pretty masonry bungalows with thatched roof and a small and relaxing outdoor patio with chairs, table and deckchairs. Too bad for the maintenance a little 'lack (the shower shelf was broken). Excellent plus, a coffee pod machine that produces the best espresso in Senegal. The restaurant is completely forgettable as is the evening entertainment that accompanies the dinner and continues until about 11pm. The real disappointment is the sea: well maintained and clean beach, pleasant umbrellas and sunbeds, but murky and foamy sea. Very unattractive. High prices for Senegal, about 230 euros per night for two people in half board

My stay at the Royam Hotel in Saly was a shared experience, with positive aspects but also negative points to note.
On the one hand, the complex, although possessing an undeniable rustic charm, deserves a good refresh. Some spaces are showing signs of wear and could benefit from an update to provide more modern comfort for guests.
The bungalow rooms were clean and offered a pleasant setting conducive to relaxation. However, I was disappointed with the quality of the breakfast, which was quite poor in terms of choice and quality.
Another negative aspect was the disturbances on the beach. Street vendors arrive regularly to sell various objects and tours, which is uncomfortable for vacationers simply looking to enjoy their stay in peace.
In conclusion, although the Royam Hotel in Saly offers a charming setting, comfortable accommodations and a rustic atmosphere, the disturbances on the beach and the quality of the breakfast could deter some travelers. I hope these points will be taken into account by the hotel management to improve the guest experience in the future.

Loyal to Royam for 4 years, this hotel continues to surprise us and improve, very well managed, nothing is left to chance, a redesigned decor, requirement of cleanliness in all common areas, clean beach raked every days, magnificent beach bar, happy hour to the sound of the sax or guitar evening, Beach party, good atmosphere!! the restaurant is up to par with copious varied buffets with quality products, all supervised by the omnipresent Romain who takes care of everything for our comfort. all the staff; gardener, maid, restaurant staff all display this smile and this kindness specific to Senegal which makes our vacation more than successful. Well done Madam Director! Geraldine and Pascal Martin ch25

Mid sized complex, arrived mid evening but few staff speak English so limited check in at reception. Full board option acceptable but nothing special, it alternates between buffet and three course menu in the evening. Cracked and chipped plates and cups makes for a poor dining experience - just replace them! The hotel is very geared towards French tourists and so not many waiters speak English. There is a rude Maitre d' who gladly swans about ignoring anyone who isn't greasing his palm. Beach bar service is very slow as is waiter service in the evening meal. This is typified by 15 minute waits to order drinks after sitting down. This is poor at the beach bar when 4 staff are waiting 6 tables when its not busy around 6pm, conversely at evening meal when 8 staff are serving 15 tables. The worst experience was at the beach bar, drinks are ordered and usually a receipt is signed for the bill to be put on the final room bill when drinks are brought. However after waiting and waiting we took empty glasses to the bar where staff were stood doing nothing. Later during evening meal a beach bar staff member interrupted us mid meal to sign the receipt nearly two hours later. I told him this was unacceptable to interrupt me eating so he passed the receipt to the restaurant barman. Then mid dessert the waiter brought me the aforementioned bill and evening drinks receipt to sign - MID MEAL again. Complaint in French to the staff resulted in the walking away. Then a clear complaint was made and received by reception who were apologetic and said it was unacceptable and I was told the Manager had left and would contact me the following day, he didn't and on following it up with reception the following day they said they had no answer. The Manager was more happy taking social media pictures than talking with anyone who wasn't French. Room is basic with threadbare and worn curtains and towels. Staff are a very mixed bag.
