Fantastic location at the lake Mockeln, many single or semidetached cottages with living tool, bed 🛏️ room and toilet 🚽. Totally peaceful environment, walking 🚶‍♀️ in forest 🌳, biking 🚴🏻‍♀️ , canoeing 🛶 or just enjoying calmness. Great for different year seasons depending on people preferences. Food in main camping house whole day or near by villages

Lovely little hotel at unique location. Very comfortable and clean room with spectacular view on the lake. The hotel is situated on the campsite of Älmhult, so there is plenty to do like: swimming, canoeing, sauna, minigolf, volleyball, large playground for the children…. Breakfast is at the restaurant of the campsite with view of the lake. The owner of the hotel and the lady of the restaurant are very welcoming. Also a great venue for large families or groups, because there are also many cabins for rent in different price ranges. We stayed here twice and we would really recommend this wonderful hotel.

Almhult, Sweden. Lakeside. There is more to Almhult than IKEA headquarters and Museum, there is a Golf course, many forest parks and great restaurants. But, for a family on a budget there is the lakeside resort which is free and you can barbeque there, swim in summer, go fishing or canoeing with some money or Swish card. This lake is outstanding, so clean the water that you can see deep to the bed. There are islands, wharfs and even a hot-tub. Campers in tents, caravans and motorhomes can stay there plugged in to electricity and wifi. A café and shop is surrounded by wooden chalets for the car driven family. Now add two hairy horses, wooden sculptures and a new playground and the lakeside become a place for the day. I was October 2019 when I visited this resort again, cold, too cold to consider swimming but still stunningly beautiful and the bag of carrots I had brought were soon devoured by the two horses. A wonderful peaceful place to be in our busy world.

My wife and I stayed for two nights here in our motor home. It is apparently not possible to book this campsite in advance. Friendly, helpful reception, English spoken. It was quite busy when we arrived and were shown a couple of potential pitches. The first one was rather steep for us but the alternative was flat with a good view of the lake – it has a public beach so it may get a bit crowded and noisy in high season. There is a children’s playground near the lake. The facilities are a little outdated but adequate and clean, and the toilets are provided with paper and soap dispensers. The electric is provided with both standard 3 and 2-pin sockets, but there is no earth. Wifi is free, but showers cost 5K for around 4 minutes. There is an excellent restaurant on site overlooking the lake – highly recommended. Reception can provide maps with cycling routes in the area and the town is just a short ride away (around 2 miles) along a good cycle path. The town has a couple of supermarkets and an “off-licence” – where you can buy standard normal strength alcoholic drinks. It also has the first IKEA store in Sweden and an IKEA museum. Overall, a good site for visiting Almhult.

The camping is beautifully located at lake Möckeln. We stayed in a family room, which is small but cozy. Sjöstugans offers free WiFi on the site, but more often tan not it was not working. Staff were friendly, but often overwhelmed with requests, leading to long waiting times. The restaurant has a great view on the lake, but does not offer many vegetarian options.

Half an hour walking 🚶‍♂️ from Älmhult, few minutes bicycle 🚲 ride or very short car 🚙 drive. Located in nice nature and lake area. Places for caravans, tents ⛺️ or possibility to get accommodation in small or bigger cottages. You can rent bicycle or canoes or just walk around. Main building offering breakfast 🥞 and having restaurant, the grocery is in the city 🌃 . I have had accommodation in newly renovated small cottages with possibility to cook and fridge. The room was clean and offering hotel standard

Älmhult has not only the international giant in the furniture industry, but also beautiful Mölkern lake and good accommodation camping. The rides are very new, the restaurant service is very good. When I enjoy the beer at dusk nearby the lake, I feel really involved in the nature.

I came here mostly because I have the ACSI card. My sons are 14 and nearly-12, and they love running around the beach area and playing on the playground equipment. We've enjoyed the community kitchen and sitting/dining area in there. Ikea, their outlet and museum were excellent. The bathrooms here are so nice and clean! I didn't go into the hot tub or sauna due to the high price, although my sons enjoyed the mini golf for about $9. (Payment in Swedish kroner is added onto the bill whenever we check out.) I don't want to leave; love it here!
