Although new shine hotel is not a luxury hotel, it gives all good facilities and also It's clean. It's on the main road, near the Kalaw market, easy to go everywhere, 15min from walk from Kalaw train station. Fair price for visitors. The staff are very helpful.

Not sure if the rooms on the back side are better, but as I stayed at the front side, I can only conclude that it was a poor quality room. Noise from the trucks and buses on their way to Thailand is entering the room day and night. The room itself was very basic. And the breakfast was poor as...

Hotel, rooms and breakfast are nothing special but okay for the money, but the tour guide Ko Hti is a very nice guy with good english and overall a pleasant person to spend two or three days with on your trek to Inle lake.

This was by far our cheapest hotel stay, during a three weeks trip in Myanmar. When we arrived, they couldn't find our booking. After several phone calls we were presented a tiny little somewhat run down room in the back of the reception. The door was so wimpy, that we could hear every step outside and due to the proximity...

Phone: 95 81 50188 Email: newshinehtl@blumail.org Cost: USD$30 double room We were moved to this place after a bungled booking across the road at Honey Pine. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. They brought us up hot water and extra blankets on a cold night upon request and without a fuss. They directed us to restaurants and arranged our...

There seem to be two New Shine hotels - or probably more accurate, two hotels across the street from one another sharing the same management. Yes they have beds and yes they serve breakfast, but Bed & Breakfast is not the right descriptor for this hotel. If bathrooms are your thing, the New Shine bathrooms are clean and modern, as...

Quite a good hotel! Rooms are spacious and clean and there's hot water! Breakfast is ok but the dining room is a little bit cold in the early morning. A bad thing: internet access is not included (it costs 1000kyats per hour). The price is quite good and you can bargain the price!

We stayed here 7 nights in all, not continuous. We went for one night because it was convenient and stayed longer because it was so very convenient, the staff were so friendly and helpful., and we got a reasonable rate. We asked for and got a quiet room - ok as a place to sleep. The breakfasts were basic but...

this was the worst hotel we had on our trip. Being in Myanmar and only having one star is no excuse for being shabby and dirty. The furniture is outdated and the whole room is depressing. The window gave a view on a blind wall 50 cm away. Dust was in every corner. This hotel needs renovation. Changing the name in...

There are two new shines, we stayed in the original on Union Highway. Sorry to hear others had bad reviews. The rooms aren't special (Burma is very basic in terms of accommodation) but the hotel has decent wifi and a good breakfast and the rooms are clean. The owner is helpful and the place is in a good location off...
