We arrived at 3am in the morning after taking a night bus from Yangon and were happy that the hotel offers a 24/7 reception. Our room was large, there were two large beds and the breakfast was okay. But the beds were a little wet, and the room was very cold and smelly. One day we had hot water, one... More

Avoid the rooms by reception if you want to get any sleep! You will be woken various times during the night by new guests arriving between 2am-5am from the night buses. Then breakfast is served right outside your bedroom door at 7am. You will hear everyone coming in and out of the hotel, and the communal area is right outside... More

+ Lady who runs the place is amazing - sorted out my trek and transport so easily, including a place to shower after the trek before jumping on the next bus + The dorms are just a twin room, so you're only sharing with one other person + Breakfast is good, eggs and toast with tea/coffee

Golden Kalaw is in a good position, very near centre but quiet enough to sleep.the owner is very efficient and good at organising whatever you need. The breakfast is generous, fruit, eggs, toast, tea or coffee and seconds are offered. The rooms are standard, not bad and I had lots of very hot water which is nice as its cool there.Overall a good deal.

We stayed in the Golden Kalaw Inn for one night before our trek to Inle Lake. The hostess was very gracious and helpful, providing us with a map of Kalaw and she spoke excellent English. The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was great and set us up for our long walk! The hotel is in a good location,... More

We arrived at night and immediately got a room, although we didn't have a reservation. We didn't have to pay for 2 nights, just 1 night and an early check in. The room smelled and the sheets weren't that clean.

Great location, just 5-7 minutes from the bus stop. The owner, Titi, is super nice. Room and bathroom clean. Breakfast was tasty and good variety. No AC but Kalaw is cool and fresh so is actually no necessary. Would definitely recommend it and go again in the future. If you stay here, go to the terrace for sunset and bring... More

I arrived in the afternoon, and a nice local at the bus stop walked me to this hotel, which was just a short 10 minute walk. Lady at reception was nice and checked into room easily. No AC, but the weather was cool enough so it didn't matter. Room was no frills. Decent, but haven't tried the other places yet.... More

We booked this hotel as it advertised a 24/7 reception, and we knew we would be arriving around 4am. We got there and the place was completely shut apart from one door. We found other travellers who had been there much earlier than us and hadn't seen a member of staff at all. We waited in reception till 7am, and... More
