It's a good while since we popped in here but I'm pleased to say that it's still a pub worth coming to. This is a lovely pub. It's actually deceptively large but the layout of a central bar with small bars and snugs around it gives a real cosy atmosphere, which is augmented by the darkish decor. For those who...

Had a meal at Waterman's Arms - calamari for starters which were good but a very generous portion, so actually none of us could eat the whole main (cod&chips, scampi& chips, chicken & chorizo pasta). The food was good, honest pub food - not great - and the menu was accordingly. £9 for a starter is quite steep - had...

We had a one night stopover after visiting Brixham. On arrival we were shown to a room overlooking the car park and I was very unhappy because Booking. com had promised us a river view room. The receptionist explained that they have had several guests arriving who have been sold river view rooms by booking. com when none are available on...

Food is overrated and overpriced but the setting is unique. Although I did not stay in the accommodation it looked ok and appeared to be full. Wide selection of drinks available and the setting along bow creek was fantastic.

I stayed for two nights with my mother, husband and two sons this summer. The location was beautiful- right next to the River Dart and a really pretty, well maintained traditional village inn. We arrived at a very high tide and the road was flooded. As we were wondering what to do, a member of staff came out and showed...

Tea and coffee available in room as well as still and sparkling water. breakfast was great and recommend the full English as that's was what we...

We were looking for somewhere to have lunch and stopped at the Waterman's. We sat outside by the water. The beer was excellent and the surroundings tranquil. The lunch was good - we loved the sausages! The rolls were a bit firm on the outside, the salad was good with a lovely dressing. The chips were very nicely cooked but...

Always visit this place when staying nearby. Really lovely old pub on the river and the ales are good. Landlord has warmed up a bit since visits last year and before.....maybe the 'Devon effect'?!!....LOL! Just need to clean the rather smelly, dirty toilets a bit.

Follow the "brown signs" just outside Totnes and you'll find this little gem at the end of some typical narrow Devon lanes. Well worth it though with a lovely setting next to the river and good food and drinks. Plenty of parking and a warm welcome as soon as you enter - country pubs don't get much better than this.
