This was a family reunion celebrating a 40th birthday. Sophie and Calum, as owner/hosts, could have done nothing more to make this a trip of a lifetime. The staff were there for our every need. The food was delicious, the driver/guides were exceptionally knowledgeable, helpful and caring. Each day we woke to another exciting outing which had been planned and...

What an amazing start to our first trip to Kenya!!!! We travelled here as a group of four celebrating our dear friend Katie's 40th Birthday! Arriving via private charter to the airstrip near Lewa House was definitely a "Wow" moment. We had certainly arrived to the wilds of Africa! After meeting our lovely host Liam, we were escorted to our...

We visited Lewa House while on a multiple location safari trip in August 2015. Our itinerary was created by consummate pros, Brownell Travel, and was truly spectacular. All of the places we visited were outstanding, but we were especially impressed with the owners and staff of Lewa House. Sophie and Calum are the the best. They are charming, delightful, very...

Lewa House is an amazing safari experience for all of the family. We took our four children there for their first experience of Africa and they loved every minute of it! We couldn't have wished for a better place. The buildings are beautiful, immaculate and traditional with large contemporary bathrooms - big baths and showers with lots of hot water...

Loved everything about this place. Great wildlife, really beautiful accommodation, a lovely pool and wonderful hosts! It was an outstanding experience. One of the best times I've ever had in Africa. And such a variety of landscapes on the slopes of Mt Kenya ... divine!

I couldn't recommend Lewa House more highly. Traveling with three boys, around their teen years, is never an easy task but they never stopped smiling and even took a break from winding each other up for a few days. The location itself is a 40 minute puddle jumping flight from Nairobi where you step off the plane and are pretty...

We stayed 4 nights in mid September 2016. It is run ( and partly owned) by Sophie and Calum Macfarlane who treat every guest like their own family. I highly recommend this if you are interested in seeing a lot of game on decently maintained roads in a very comfortable, inviting lodge. Facilities: The 7 large stone and concrete cottages...

Second time to Kenya and from the moment we stepped in it felt like staying with friends. The earth pods are top quality, with great views, v spacious and well appointed. All staff are v friendly and knowledgable which made for great game drives. A particular highlight was meal times. The food and drink is great but Callum and Sophie...

We started our family safari at Lewa House. This was my 4th safari and I have been fortunate in that I have stayed at some amazing places. I can honestly say that Lewa House is one of my favorite places in Africa. All the gushing reviews of Sophie and Callum are so very true. They are so incredibly welcoming and...

Wow - reviews like this make our day! We are chuffed that you enjoyed your stay here. As Lewa Wildlife Conservancy is on private land we have the ability to do a diverse range of activities many of which allow you to get out of a vehicle and stretch your legs - often a rare thing on safari. There is...

We've been to Africa many times, and this is one of only two camps that we have stayed at that are owner managed. Sophie and Callum and their 2 children were wonderful hosts. They were very interesting to talk to at the family style dinners and made us feel very welcome. Our guide was Joseph. He was very interesting -...

We have a saying that people arrive as guests but leave as friends and we are glad that you feel this way too! Owner run safari lodges are getting rarer and rarer these days but we are proud to be one for the few left. Your reviews really help and we appreciate it so much. Jospeh is a stellar guide...
