Arniston is an amazing place. Beautiful and peaceful. We stayed at the Lodge for two nights and were struck by the hospitality. Erwin is a great host, very relaxed, funny and a fantastic storyteller. A man who understands how to live and it quickly rubs off on you. Breakfast, bar, fireplace, everything was right. If I were to name one...

We spent one night at Arniston Lodge. We were in the two rooms downstairs next to the pool. The other guests and the owner spent the evening in the lounge/bar just above the rooms, which meant that we got no sleep until well after midnight when I finally went and pleaded for some quiet so we could get some sleep....

I went for 4 days and stayed for a week! Arniston is the most fabulous find, quite a special place, so tranquil, far from the hussle and bussle of life, just what I needed and what's more I would not hesitate to return. The Arniston Lodge is a lovely friendly place in which to stay, nothing is too much trouble....

Arniston is a charming little place with blue ocean and white sands. Our stay was complemented by the experience of our night in Arniston Lodge. The beds were comfortable, the breakfast was delicious, but it was the lodge itself that now sticks in the memory: the thatched roof of our bedroom; the view across the fishing village to the the...

We were quite disappointed by our recent stay at the Arniston Lodge. Our room had a nice view but was quite noisy (it gave on the swimming pool and barbecue area: the first night we were there, a barbecue was organized and we hardly could sleep). The owner was not exactly friendly or helpful. The staff was kind.

There is not much to add to the already given positive comments. We arrived after a very long drive and hadn't booked anything as we wanted to see how far we get, but wanted to stay as close to the cape point as possible. Also there were enough possibilities it beeing low season. One thought was the hotel which is...

We booked this small B&B because we wanted to be close to Cape Agulhas. It was a good choice. Very friendly staff, cozy upstairs room, good bathroom, hair dryer, comfortable bed, good price. There is a pool and lounging area, braai area and a fireplace for the cooler season. There is no house wide wireless, but the owner will let...

The lodge only has 4 rooms which makes the service very personal, the staff could not do enough for you and were more than happy to spend time showing you on maps how to get to lots of lovely places we would have missed. Room was clean and quite basic which was reflected in the very reasonable tarrif.

Not much in Arniston but well worth a quick visit. Beach is glorious, long, interesting, natural, empty. Weather is marine--often too windy, misty, foggy to do much. B&B nondescript, house is old, rooms worn. Breakfast was functional. Just a few (maybe 3) restaurants in town--Arniston Hotel offered a great dinner.

My apologies for being so late with this review. We stayed here last year on our way back to Capetown at the end of our trip. The weather turned very stormy, a gale really, when we headed into Arniston. But what a find was waiting for us! Big log fire, lovely warm welcome, cosy snug room with a wonderful view...
