Really good rate for a B&B in a quiet little town less than an hour away from either Edinburgh or Glasgow. Just minutes from Stirling. Turns out, the food is really great too, and a nice pub. Wonderful Scottish father and son team run it.

If you are looking for a pint and some friendly people stop by the Red Lion Inn in Doune. We had a blast and some good laughs with June and her regulars after a visit to the castle and the river behind the castle. If you are lucky enough to meet Michael he will give you some good info on...

Clean rooms. Friendly staff. The toilet paper holder and sink shelf need the attachment screws fixed. Dinner and breakfast were great. Take some time to check out nearby Doune castle of Outlander and Monty Python fame. Of the hotels and inns we stayed at, these beds were the least comfortable. Frustrating since we got into this inn early enough to...

My family and I have returned from Doune today. We were visiting friends in Stirling. The Inn and food were lovely and the locals treated you as friends. But we had room 5. The decor was pleasant , but tired. The bathroom contained the usual stuff and s macerator to remove waste water and sewage. This was extremely noisy! We...

We stayed here for one night whilst travelling west. The Inn is a real old style Inn which is what we were looking for. The bar staff were very friendly. Our room was good and the bed comfortable. We had dinner at the Inn and it was nice. We didn't have the breakfast in the morning as we weren't after...

Up a short steep flight of stairs was a surprisingly roomy twin room, very clean and also with a large bathroom. The beds were extremely comfortable. We had a good dinner in the small restaurant as well as breakfast. Doune is a lovely small village.

we called here on spec on Sunday, they were due to start serving at 1pm and we arrived at 12.50, we hadn't booked but a table wasn't a problem as there was no one else at all around, never a good sign? I ordered the steak and ale pie and my husband had the belly pork Sunday roast. Both meals...

We stopped at the Red Lion Inn for some lunch we had eaten there before and the food was good then very good. This time the standard had not dropped since the last time. The menu was interesting and our starters were delivered very quickly and very tasty. The main choices were also delicious. The in also has a guest...
