Having arrived at the splendid looking Woodside Hotel, we were confronted by four young men who were obviously both heavily intoxicated, and pondering over what to buy their sister for Mother's Day, sitting outside the front door. Despite the initial exchanges, we moved past and into the hotel. The dining area is basic, clean and the menu is not fussy....

We have visited this venue a number of times and again today the food didn't disappoint! If you are looking for traditional / pub food - this place is ideal. From steak pie to burgers to fish, it has something for everyone. Only slight letdown today was the service - the staff present were excellent and attentive but the management...

My family and I visited the Woodside a couple of weeks ago and had a great time and lovely home cooked meal, the staff were helpful, polite and very efficient. The staff also provided information on local activities and attractions. Many thanks to our hosts Susanna and Charles. Will be back soon

On our way to the highlands we stopped for a night. Rooms are basic and bathrooms tiny..No lift. The price charged is fair with regards to the stay. Breakfast is basic again. Cereal, eggs to order, juice, jam and yogurt. The staff is friendly and lively unlike the hotel. The free WIFI is available only in the lounge area and...

Stayed here a few nights while working in the area. Staff were pleasant. Breakfast and dinner were actually very good. But the place is messy/cluttered and needs brightened up. The reception desk/window cill/ office area gave a bad impression straight away so cluttered with junk and scraps of paper. TV in Lounge area was mounted on a piece of plywood...

The Woodside staff deserve credit for their positive, friendly helpful attitude. We arrived early evening and the room key had been taken away by the previous occupant, not the hotel's fault, but they had difficulty in finding the spare key. We were offered an alternative room, but the loud noise from the extractor device under the window was unacceptable, so...

My office booked me into this hotel during a business trip around Scotland. The welcome was very friendly with Julie. She even carried my heavy suitcase upstairs as there isn't a lift. My room looks to have been recently refurbished and was very clean and comfortable, albeit a little road noise which quiet end at night. There is a kettle...

My husband and I booked a 2 night stay with our 10 month old Labrador, it was the first time we had ever taken a dog in a hotel, all three of us we made so welcome, nothing was any trouble, we were even asked if our dog would like a sausage to give her after we had had our...
