We arrived just before the kitchen closed but the owners were very friendly and chatty. Excellent lunch and interesting surroundings. No music thank goodness! Others who were there told us that this is a very good place to stay in all respects, including the countryside of course.

I stayed here recently for 2 nights with my 96 year old mother and my border terrier. It is a delightful pub in a lovely setting. The staff are great. Very friendly and nothing is too much trouble. I am gluten and dairy intolerant which to my amazement was no problem to them at all. Gluten-free toast and non-dairy spread...

This a pub rather than a hotel, wish trip adviser would get their act together. Nice attractive pub in a nice location with outdoor seating overlooking a stream. Good selection of beers and ciders, and I don't mean the bottled fruity types, more the small brewery scrumpy. Fish platter was not to my taste as it included octopus and muscles,...

We didn't stay here (unfortunately, see other review!) but did visit their restaurant - Really nice fish menu (as well as meat) - The Thai seafood casserole was amazing! I'd highly recommend... A little excerpt from their website: •Our beef, lambs & pigs are from our own herd. •We have our own chickens and free-range fresh eggs. •All other produce...

Stayed here for 3 nights in August...Fab. A small village with big attractions and such a great pub. Quiet on a Wednesday night ..no chance .A vibrant buzzing pub serving great real ale , friendly staff and a great beer garden overlooking the river, where we spent a fascinating hour watching the fish jump !! Restaurant was homely but served...

Enjoyed a fabulous Sunday Lunch to celebrate my Mums 70th. Beautiful setting, friendly staff and the roast dinner was the best we've had in years... Don't be in a rush as ever thing is cooked to order.. I, personally liked the slower pace... save room for pud and a huge cafetiere of coffee ...

This was a wonderful pub lunch (the place also has accommodation) and my wife and I can highly recommend it. Excellent mixed seafood salad (shared, which was just as well), huge portion of liver & bacon beautifully cooked to our specification, fantastic puds (my gooseberry crumble and custard was enough for two but I scoffed the lot!!!). The staff were...

I ate at his quaint pub last Monday with my partner and mother in law and we were all delighted to have chosen somewhere so good! The building and little village are gorgeous and the staff lovely and friendly. There was a good, varied menu and the food was amazing! I had the scampi and it was perfect. My mother...
