This is a very sad review...Every two years a generation of our family has a holiday together...or just a long weekend away.....we choose a different part of the UK each time as we are fairly well spread apart. It is great to have fun. spend time remembering the fun we all had in our younger years and eat and drink...

So, let us get the bad stuff out the way: prices & food! Food is outrageously overpriced, as other reviewers have pointed out before! And, before the manager responds, as with other negative reviews, that it is vicious, rude or otherwise to say so, I suggest she reflects and reviews herself! After much deliberation, because we had viewed the menu...

The food was delicious and well presented , if slightly overpriced. When we received the bill we noted a 10% service charge had been added. We thought this odd for a table of two people but paid anyway. I have since read that this was discretionary but this was not made clear at the time of paying the bill. This...

I am sorry to hear you are disappointed about the service charge. It is actually stated on all of our menus that it is discretionary, unfortunately this must have been missed. We are one of the last gastro pubs in our area to add a service charge, some people think its great and others are disappointed but all members of...

Was back here again at Easter to catch up with family to celebrate my wife's birthday. As there 15 of us we had pre-ordered from a menu sent out in advance. Some fussy eaters were accommodated with an extra choice. Also a couple of extra guests turned up on the evening and they were also sorted out. Food was excellent....

Popped in for dinner on Sunday evening when staying locally for the weekend. Food was absolutely superb - we eat out a lot particularly in London, and this was one of the best meals we have had recently I would certainly recommend the place and will go back - it's a 2 hour drive for us but if it wasn't...

We are so pleased to hear you enjoyed our food, Head Chef Michael Smith trained in London for 16 years therefore brings a fabulous menu to The Inn, which meets a wide variety of customers, from walkers to fine diners. Maybe you should think about relocating to the South West?! Thank you so much! See you again soon!

Terrible stay. The room has clearly not been hoovered, hair on the pillows that were not ours. Toothpaste stains on the bedspread. Bin had not been emptied following a previous stay as there was a Durex wrapper in bedroom bin. Rooms in need of some TLC, heavily frayed carpets, out of date shampoo products, dusty surfaces and dirty glasses. Staff...

I have to say all of us here at The Inn are very surprised by your review on behalf of your family stay. You said yourselves you are proud owners of a pub similar to ours, a 'home from home' regarding The Inn was in fact implied when a member of the team spent time chatting with you and also...

Not only a pub with bundles of character but also plenty of heart. A warm welcome always greets you. Comfortable and cosy inside with an extensive menu. The food is superb. It's worth the extra you may expect to pay in a normal pub...but this establishment is far away from your usual local so well worth the extra pennies. You're...

Wow! What a fantastic review, thank you for being so kind. We thrive for our 30 Mile Menu and we are so glad to hear our customers appreciate our hard work! Keep your eye out for our New Wine List and array of New Cocktails, launching at Easter, these will meet the standards of 30 Mile Menu. We look forward...

My son and his girlfriend brought me here for birthday lunch. Delicious food as always, a glass of prosecco, friendly attentive staff and service. If it's busy, parking can get a bit tricky but we managed a space

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Within this 17th Century building, Jane Gould has brought about her own vision of a traditional English Country Inn. Amongst the wood burning stoves, cosy corners and sharing tables you will find hearty interesting food, lovingly restored bedrooms featuring large beds with snuggly duvets and a choice of pillows and fabulous en-suite bathrooms with powerful showers, some roll-top baths and Bramley products. The daily changing menu is interesting but not overwhelming and there is always great range of well-kept Real Ales, including the Inn’s own Fleur Ale, brewed specially by Hall & Woodhouse. The Inn at Cranborne is fast becoming a focal point of the delightful village of Cranborne, set as it is in the heart of Cranborne Chase with its ample opportunities for fishing and shooting. It is a short drive to the New Forest, the beautiful Jurassic Coast and the sandy beaches of Bournemouth. Winborne, Salisbury, Shaftesbury and many gardens and historic places are within an easy drive. The area is also great for cycling and walking, with Jubilee trail right on our doorstep. ... more   less
