The tent accommodation was so clean, insect proof & comfortable that I have made plans to return with family in exactly 2 weeks, tomorrow.
Food was like homemade.
The staff were all cordial & helpful .
The resort itself is as close to nature as possible. If calm & quiet is what one is looking for, then Heaven's Ledge is the place to go to.

I was here over a weekend for a party in the same estate. The estate itself is huge and the Last Shola was where we had a room. The party was organised at Heaven's Ledge - a flat area amidst the hills with a cliff on one side providing a breathtaking view. We had a very entertaining party with a bon-fire at Heavens Ledge. For us city folks it was a strange experience to be in the place where the air was so clean and sky is clear making thousands of stars visible at night. It seemed like another world. If you just want to get away to a quiet place away from all the madness of a city this is the perfect place to go. And the blessing in disguise was that mobile phone reception was limited to some areas on the hill due to the geography - even more peace and quiet!
The next day we spent walking around the large estate exploring the sights and sounds. We even went fishing at this small pond within the estate! Overall it was an amazing experience. I can't wait to go back and spend a weekend there.

The moment 5 of us friends reached the Heaven's Ledge, we fell in love with the place. It was so serene and beautiful that all we felt like doing was just to stare at the deep valley and the mountains around us.

It a nice place to spend a day and a half. So for a short weekend trip it's definitely worth a visit. It took us about 5 hours from Bangalore to reach Heaven's Ledge, we reached at lunch time and left the next day after breakfast.. It was an adequate time to spend there with friends and family.

There is a small hut with a nice big round table and 6 wooden seats for meals and perhaps for playing games. We just sat in that hut and looked at the beautiful view and heard different birds till our lunch arrived. It was a sumptuous meal and we thoroughly enjoyed it.

The tent had two rooms with a bathroom in between the rooms. The bathroom was clean and rooms were big enough, but the mattress was very uncomfortable.

We went on a sunset trail and trekked through the plantations as well as along the cliff.. The sunset that we could see (the clouds hid the sun intermittently) was splendid.

At night, there was a bonfire and the breeze was just perfectly cool to sit and chat or play some music and dance.. The dinner was also quite nice..

The staff was extremely polite and very helpful and well informed and spoke Hindi so language wasn't a problem too..

Overall, it was a wonderful experience and I would definitely recommend it and will visit it again..

Stayed her with a friend of mine for 2 nights - 3 days last weekend.

I would say this place is ultimate for people who look for basic (not so luxurious) holiday with a lot of nature around.

I and my friend had the same expectation, a peaceful surrounding with a lot of nature in which we have something adventurous to try out.

We stayed a night in Last Shola and the second night in the tent in Heavens ledge.

We landed at around 2PM on Christmas day and the check-in was smooth. Though there is no formal reception, Mr. Vijiyan made the check-in really smooth. We had a good homely lunch with Chicken biriyani, Chicken Fry and fruit salad. They served the buffet lunch in a open space near the rooms, but it was hygienic and tasty.

Mr. Viji assigned a dedicated guide to us, Mr. Sathiyaraj. We started at 4PM and went for an hour of trekking along the borders of the estate. It was challenging and adventurous. The trekking trip ended at the Heavens ledge where they put in the tents. The view from the place was breathtaking. Within an hour they served snacks and tea/coffee in the same place. We spent an hour or so there and returned to the room.

Dinner was served a little late, at around 9PM, but the food was fantastic. Hot Dosa, plain and kothu paratha and chicken gravy/dry dishes. They prepared hot paratha and Dosa on the spit, it made the dinner excellent.

Our guide came at 6 AM in the morning and we went for a long walk to see if we can watch Bison. The morning was very foggy and we didn't see any. But, it was worth a walk. We had seen most of the estate which houses both Last Shola and Heavens Ledge. It was mesmerizing to put the least. The guide was superb.

After breakfast we moved to the tent at Heavens ledge. The place had 3 tents with bath attached to each.

It was a cold and foggy day. Again the guide came at around 11AM to take us out. We went to the lake within the facility and took a small boat ride. Then took the bicycles which are again a free service of the property and went to the nearby village. It was a pleasurable ride. The place was foggy upto around noon.

Came back for lunch, again the same buffet lunch served at the cliff overlooking the valley near the Heavens ledge. An evening walk with the guide brought the day to the end.

The day became foggy and cold at 7PM, We had to stay within the tent to make it warm, It was still a little too cold till the morning.

At 6 AM in the morning, it was still foggy and cold outside. Worse than the previous day, but it was very enjoyable. The caretaker of the Heaven's ledge, Mr. Mathesh served hot tea and coffee at 7AM.

The hotel crew served breakfast sharp at 8:30PM today. The hot breakfast was a great blessing in the cold morning.

We left the place at 10AM while it was still foggy and cold.

Overall it was a great stay. It met all my expectations from a basic camping plus lodging place.

Pros I noticed are -

- Good rooms in Last Shola, all basic stuff available. The rooms had good quality TV service, which I found it lacking in five star hotels like Taj.

- Good homely food, though again only basic stuff. The staff served it hot and fresh and that made it great.

- Great service by the staff - Mr. Viji, Sathiyaraj and Mathesh. Shankar attended us once in a while with his warm smile and made sure we had everything we need. We asked for two pillows to use in the tent which they provided on time

- Last, not the least, the great location, particularly the cliff with the fantastic view. I didn't expect it in a place like this.

Cons -

- The bathrooms attached to the tents could have been cleaner, the living room of the tents to was muddy, they can place a few doormats to keep the bath/living rooms clean and dry.

- Facility to charge mobiles etc in the Heavens ledge can be better. We had to run around to charge our mobiles.

- They allowed crowd from outside to access the cliff next to Heavens ledge. It made the place very crowded and difficult for the residents of the ledge. It could be prevented.

Finally a word to the architect of this facility Mr. Kamlesh - Sir, you did a great job in opening-up this estate to public. You understand the expectations of people like us (who want only basic things and to be surrounded by nature and adventure) and succeeded in meeting almost all. You also built a great team that is motivated in serving the guests. Hats off sir. Keep up the great work.

One request - please don't try to add more amenities and make it more expensive. We will be back soon if this facility remains the same.

Heaven's Ledge lives up to its name: It truly is Heaven on a Ledge !

The best decision we made for our weekend getaway was to choose to set up camp in Heaven's Ledge situated 16 km from the Big Lake, Yercaud. Opting to be a little adventurous, we decided to stay in the tents situated right at the edge of the cliff. Apart from the absolutely breathtaking view offered, we were completely pampered by the courteous staff.
The package, amongst the several activities offered, also included 2 treks with an extremely patient guide Dhanasekhar, who went the extra mile to ensure that we, amateur trekkers, had a beautiful, safe and informative experience (in addition to agreeing to click the zillion pictures of us, with a smile on his face :D).
The exhilaration of trekking along the ledge of the mountain while watching the mesmerizing sunset, coupled with the sumptuous home-like meals delivered to us literally at our door-step, the crackling bonfire at night and the exciting bison trail which brought us face-to-face with the majestic beast, was worth every penny and more.
Heaven's Ledge has definitely raised the bar on weekend getaway destinations and we definitely recommend this as a must visit for anyone looking for a bit of an adventurous encounter with nature away from the hustle and bustle of city life.

P.S :- We chose to drive down from Bengaluru to Salem, post which we drove uphill to Yercaud. The whole journey took us all of 5 hours. A handy tip would be to Download the map from Heaven's Ledge website which gives clear directions from the Big Lake, as opposed to Google Maps, which could be misleading.

4 of us friends stayed here on 10th Jan 2016; Though I had visited Heaven's ledge before this was my first stay and my first experience in staying in a tent.

The place is nothing less than a dream; You will never know the time flying when you sit on the cliff overlooking the mountains and the passing by clouds.

The food is excellent in both quality and quantity. The lake and fishing area is an excellent sight for your eyes.

Overall you just want to come and spend time here to do nothing;.. The best place for a lazy weekend ...

Came across this place while doing search over the net. I was skeptical about choosing an tent accommodation at first but went ahead with the booking. We were a group of 5 bikers from Chennai and Bangalore. We- 3 bikers from Chennai started on a Thursday eve at 5 pm from Chennai and had a rendezvous with the Bangalore bikers in Krishnagiri @ 11 PM. Reached Yercaud lake @ 1 AM on Friday morning.
Finding the place at midnight is one hell of a task but the guys from Heaven's ledge were guiding us even at that odd hours. Finally reached the spot @ 4 AM . Though its only 15-20 kms from the lake, we De-toured for some time before finding this place.

We met their staff and they showed the tent , it was pitch dark outside, so we couldn't get a feel of the place and its surroundings. Slowly one by one my friends got fed up with the arrangements made by me. Eventually we ended up having a couple of drinks @ 5AM (!!!) and feel asleep.
By 7 Am we woke up because of the sunlight over the tent and got out of the tent. My goodness, the view was breath taking. Really felt like we were suddenly transported to heaven.
Actually the tent was placed over the edge of a cliff which we couldn't notice when we came in @ 4AM because of the darkness.
Only after this all my friends started appreciating the accommodation and the locality.
This trip of mine will stay forever in my memories just because of the locality.
Their service is worth mentioning, though there is no uniformed butlers or the kinda service u get from a star hotel, they have arranged for 2 local villagers who were ready to do anything for you on just blink of an eye.
The package includes all meals which was also good. All the food items are home made and tasted good. Though the variety is less, nothing to complain about the food.
Camp fire was arranged on request with music.
Watching the sunset from the stone benches just over the cliff was a total bliss.

If you are a person who cant live without TV / mobile phones then this is not the place for you.
Plantation walk was arranged which was good.
Fishing and boating inside the plantation is just for namesake because the 'lake' is not a lake really just a big sized tank.
Would love to go back to this place.
