My wife and I recently spent a weekend at Tarraleah Lodge to attend a French Cooking Class. The suite in the Lodge was quite opulent and furnished in art deco fashion. The king size bed was one of the most comfortable I have slept in and the bathroom was quite simply huge. The library lounge was very comfortable but the...

What a fabulous job the owners have done to bring an old town to life. From walking around the town, taking a drive down Hydro tracks to experiencing the cafe and Hylander Arms. We had an unreal visit and dining experience. The Hylander Cows and the photo opportunities they provided was a highlight of our trip. Would highly recommend a...

Tarraleah is a village type accommodation area with several differently priced places to rest your weary bones and a spa. The lodge is beautifully maintained and furnished in an old Victorian style. We stayed in the Carter Suite, which has a lovely king sized bed, comfortable easy chair, desk area and small patio. Hidden behind a subtle opaque glass door...

Felt like a timewarp and was a little odd at times. Our suite (Sorell #8) was amazing, spacious, an amazing bed, and black out curtains. Our package included a beautiful 2 course dinner, and bottle of wine - we finished this in the lodge library/whiskey room. My husband joined a whiskey tasting, they have over 150 bottles in stock. Library...

Loved everything about Tarraleah, it is such a stunning location and the village has everything you need, great accommodation. We were there during Summer but it would also be a great getaway in Winter, cosy rooms.

Having driven through Tarraleah several times over the years, usually just stopping for a quick bite to eat or a coffee, it gives me a special feeling to see how this little town is now looking "loved". It is a credit to the owners, and a privilege to be able to explore in more depth this time. We wanted a...

I booked this accommodation by looking simply at the room photos and a map - the alone cannot do The Lodge justice. After checking in, it felt like we walked back in time as we found our way through the hallways to our room. There's a sense of grandeur about the place. The room was outstanding - central heating let...

We are not whingers and 2 days post our stay we are laughing about it but just for the record - the location is really not very nice (just an ex-hydro town), the walks are very short, not maintained and very very ordinary, the service was pretty rude and indifferent, the advertising about activities was false and the meal -...

This was my second visit after a long interval. The lodge and rooms are as beautiful as ever. The public spaces are comfortable and inviting. There is a well stocked honesty bar. The property is not hosted which is not a problem. You go to the main area of Tarraleah - which is not more than a dot-on-the-map to check...
