This place is very well-kept and ideally positioned if you want to be away from the world and gasp and gawk at brilliant scenery. Just a few minutes away from the Silver Strand, without a doubt Donegal's most beautiful beach, and away from telephone connection and wifi, this place is the ideal place to get away from it all. Frank,...

Our usual plans for July had fallen through so we were slightly apprehensive about trying somewhere completely new, especially with a moody 14-year-old in tow. We needn't have been. It felt like home from the moment we arrived, with a turf fire blazing away in the hearth - very welcoming after a stressful 4-hour drive in pouring rain on a...

I made reservations with reservations. I never expected a hostel to be this nice. It was clean. We had a double room with a private bath. Every night Frank would put a fire in the fireplace. It was more like a family atmosphere! I was able to cook my own meals and stick to the crazy diet the dr has...

A quiet hostel/lodging in a beautiful area in Ireland. Frank (our host) was very welcoming, and we had a comfortable room, with four beds and a private bath (as well as - in our case - our own private entrance to our room). There were two large kitchens, where we made ourselves dinner. After dinner, we took a short walk...

This hostel is in a fantastic place, at the end of the west, just looking the waves! And Frank is such a good guy you can't avoid to appreciate. Very clean and quietfull this hostel offers all what you need while travelling or visiting Donegal. Just do not forget to bring your food if you do not have a car....

The hostel building is like new. The room and bed were good quality, with plenty of room, and a clean, good-sized bathroom. Common area was spacious, with fire burning, and congenial, interesting people with whom to converse. Kitchen facility had everything one needed to store and prepare meals. The beach nearby is among the prettiest you'll ever see. You are...

A very clean and comfortable hostel. We were exploring Donegal and this hostel was a wonderful base. We had some glorious walks thanks to Frank's suggestions and the loved scenery all around Malin Beg. We appreciated his time talking with us and having the fire going each evening when we got home. It is quiet and little was open but...

My sister and I travelled to malinbeg with two babies to stay for a few days and loved the homey feeling to the place. The owner Frank is an integral part of the local community and is held in high esteem by all of the people we spoke too. I would advise that you bring food with you as the...

We stayed 19th-21st of August. The hostel is spotlessly clean, the amount of work Frank (the owner) does in running the hostel is commendable. No dirt in any of the bedrooms, kitchens, bathrooms or living room. The kitchen facilities are well equipped with everything you need, you will not want for anything. The bedrooms are lovely, but I would recommend...

My wife and I greatly enjoyed our 2 nights at Malinbeg Hostel in late July 2014. Things we liked:  Frank, the owner and manager, his daughter Charlotte and sister Margaret (who were helping out while visiting), were friendly and made us feel at home. Frank came by in the evenings to make a peat fire in his fireplace, and...
