Now that we are home again after traveling Ireland for five weeks, there are a few standout experiences that float to the top of our memories that were made there. Our experience at Malinbeg Hostel was one of those special ones. The "hostel" is more like a lodge with small but bright rooms, many with there own bath. There are... More

This clean, homely and very welcoming hostel is within walking distance of unique and breathtaking cliffs and beaches. Perfect for a digital disconnection break, the hostel is in the heart of beautiful landscape. Very highly recommended.

You need to watch out for sheep on the road near this place as you really get out into the real countryside! Very refreshing getting away from civilization (and technology- no wifi). Frank was a very welcoming and friendly host. Clean rooms, comfortable bed, very quiet so great place to catch up on quality sleep. Would definitely recommend.

This is the best hostel we have stayed in during our long travels around the UK. Clean, comfortable and with a wonderful open fire where we chatted to all and sundry at night, the hostel is close to a beautiful beach and some wild, wonderful coastline. The manager, Frank, made us feel at home and our only regret was not... More

Having driven straight off the ferry and breaking down just outside of Monaghan, fully repaired and back on the road (fabulous Irish chaps with vans to the rescue) we headed out to Glencolmcille. 8 hours later than anticipated we were in no mood to end up with the usual basic, unfriendly, dour hostel. We got to Glencolmcille, ended up ever... More

The next stop from Malin Beg is Canada, so the reason for visiting is the wild landscape and weather and coastal walks,Silver Sands beach, and the small fishing port. No pub in Malin Beg, but a good cafe with a substantial hot menu. The Malin Beg Hostel, run by the incomparable Frank, is the best place stay with good clean... More

The location is absolutely stunning. It could seem remote, but the scenery is really mind-blowing. Our host, Frank, is one of the most friendly and helpful hosts we've ever met, always ready to show his guests the Irish hospitality. I recommend it to families or friends visiting Donegal for one night or more. For a hostel, the quality is excellent... More

Just back from a weekend at Malinbeg hostel with a group from my scuba diving club. We have stayed here many times and have always enjoyed it. Frank keeps the hostel in great condition. The beds are very comfortable, the two kitchens and large dining room and sitting room provide plenty of space, and if the weather turns nasty, Frank... More
