We spent 6 days at this wonderful resort. We truly enjoyed Burnie, Alice and all the staff. Everyone was friendly, accommodations were clean, spacious and convenient. The food and drinks were great. We would certainly return to Guagamaya in the future.

As in the past two visits we found the Guacamaya Lodge to be excellent. The rooms are comfortable and well designed (we had a small cook stove and fridge in our room). As with all Costa Rican hotels, tiny ants are evident everywhere so it is necessary to keep all unsealed food in the fridge. The very good room design...

Our family of 4 (2 kids under 3) just finished staying for 2 weeks at Casa Margarita. This was the perfect spot for some quality family time. Gorgeous pool, beautiful surroundings, comfortable beds, great A/C, well stocked kitchen, clean rooms, and friendly people. We didnt have a car for most of our stay but a well stocked grocery store is...

My wife and I spent one night here. The restaurant/bar/pool area are exceptional. Beautiful and with great service. Food was above average and fresh. The room was small and queen bed was really a double. Excellent shower. The insect problem is great here.....bring LOT of repellent! Not on the ocean but close.

We just returned from Thanksgiving in Costa Rica. Four of our nights were spent at Guacamaya Lodge in Junquillal. This is a beautiful property and you can walk to a gorgeous beach in a matter of minutes. The accommodations were more than adequate and very comfortable. There is an attached restaurant that serves excellent food for breakfast, lunch and dinner....

Alice, Lilly, Jillian and Berni are great hosts. We felt like one of their family members. My 77 year old Mom said, " This is the friendliest place I've ever been". The room was great, the food delicious (have the guacamole with a cerveza!), the grounds beautiful. 10 stars and two thumbs up!

Our son who has lived in Costa Rica for 2 years highly recommended Guacamaya, a small, family run hotel within a few minutes walking of Playa Junquillal. We were treated as family and all staff were quick to help us with anything we asked about. Directions were given, an exquisite and very reasonably priced massage and fishing trip were arranged....

After traveling around the busy Puntarenas area on our family vacation we decided to drive up to Guanacaste and stumbled upon the wonderful gem that is Guacamaya Lodge. The hotel is owned by a brother and sister. They are the most gracious hosts. We enjoyed sitting around the bar drinking coffee and sharing stories with them. Enrique and the rest...

This was our second visit and I really hope it will not be our last. Alice and Bernie are the absolute best hosts and the lodge is so comfortable and the food is so good and the atmosphere is completely relaxing and gorgeous, complete with monkeys, sea breezes, and the sound of pounding waves.
