We stayed here for one night and it was a quite wonderful and magical stay. We have gone to the Lakes regularly for many years but never been here-our mistake as it's fabulous! Beautiful old hall in extensive grounds overlooking Bassenthwaite Lake. Great service, lovely room, fab views, luxury spa, etc. The restaurant and bar look out over the lake...

We recently had our wedding here in April 2015. We stayed the day before the wedding with the family and had chance to spend a relaxing day at the spa, myself and my daughter booked in for a facial. The spa facilities are excellent, very clean and the pool was lovely and warm. We were blessed with lovely weather and...

Armathwaite Hall is a beautiful building in an idilic setting. We first stayed here a couple of years ago in the autumn during the week when it seemed constantly busy with a real buzz about it. Seeing a deal advertised on Travel Zoo we thought we would take the opportunity of visiting again for a couple of nights. We paid...

We had the privilege to stay here. The place is set expansive grounds overlooking the lake. The staf were very polite and welcoming. Breakfast was something to look forward to in the morning. Although the room we were allocated was clean and nicely decorated it was rather small and this was our only disappointment. We had the pleasure of using...

We arrived at the hotel to find it set in stunning grounds and beautiful views of the lake. We were greeted with a glass of sherry which was delicious and welcoming . I had booked via travel zoo and as the hotel had no club rooms available I paid more for a spa room with terrace however when we were...

Beautiful room with fantastic drapes. Polite and helpful staff and very cheerful. Our room had a patio which was ideal to be able to have a cigarette without standing at the front of the building. It was cold weather when we went but you would be able to sit out on the patio in the summer and enjoy the beautiful...

Have been visiting this hotel many times over the years and experienced changes in decor, spa, management and dining styles. Have not stayed in the same room twice. Prefer the character and individuality of main hall rooms. This time experienced the spacious stunning tower suite, best room by far. Appears recently refurbished with up to date decor and styling. Fabulous...

As the title suggests we were very disappointed on our recent visit here. We booked two rooms, one of which was for my Mother who Is disabled and we checked before booking that there was a lift and no stairs. On arrival we found that the lift went up to the floor allocated but there was then two steps in...

This is a lovely, if slightly dated hotel. The bedroom we had was straight from the 1970's with swags and tie backs but it was extremely comfortable. We were provided with dressing gowns to use and much appreciated slippers to take home. We used the pool and the outdoor hot tub which was great, especially as the weather was so...

Just returned from a one night stay to celebrate my husband's birthday - made a big mistake as should have gone for two nights! From the minute we arrived (for lunch as we were an hour early to check in) to be told our room was ready, to leaving nothing was too much trouble. Have read reviews on here about...
