Came in for a few pints of ale from this award winning pub. Only 3 choices on the bored to choose from. 2 where their own brew and old speckled hen that I can get anywhere down by me. I try's both the their bitter and their stout. Both where good but felt a little let down by the lack...

I was travelling around Dumfries & Galloway in a campervan with my partner and two children during the half term holidays. It was a late half term, and all the tourist attractions had closed for the winter. The clocks had changed, so the days ended ealier, and the weather also became much colder. We'd been exploring the wilderness of Galloway...

Great place for a pint of real ale, lots of selection too. During the summer the seating areas overlooking the bay are generally uncrowded and give fantastic views of the boats in the harbour - just the place to relax and watch the world go by.

The food is good, fresh and hot with wide variety. Groups can be catered for in a very pleasant conservatory, or romantic couples in the dining room, or outside overlooking the harbour. As a pub, it wins CAMRA awards for the good guest ales as well as its own micro-brewery.

We decided to stay a couple of nights in our motorhome at the Isle of Whithorn. On Saturday we thought we'd give this pub a try for lunch, having perused the menu a few times in passing! It is a popular place for locals and visitors and even in late October it was doing good business. There is a choice...

Stopped here on a wild and windy afternoon. Staff friendly and chatted to others also stopping for a quick drink away from the wind. Loved the fact they would do a lovely pot of tea when most others were drinking beer.

Booked as trip advisor looked good. Day before we observed people eating in dining room at front of place. Looked inviting. We were shown into a a dismal conservatory in the back of the place. The food was served cold and very average. Such a shame . The place has potential to be really nice.

The Steam Packet situated just down the road from where we stayed in a self catering accommodation is a most welcoming place; not only is the food good, the staff are very pleasant, the customers are friendly and chatty and the views are picturesque. Its a very busy pub so that in it self tells you just how good it...

Reliving my wife's memories of family and friends as they originally came from that area, we popped into the Steam Packet for a light lunch which was good quality. The staff were pleasant and willing to please.. Would not hesitate to recommend.

A first class lunch: I had haddock and chips, freshly cooked and very tasty, my husband had a seafood platter which was beautifully presented and included a wide variety of fish accompanied by lovely bread. That was more than enough to satisfy our hunger but we couldn't resist the cheesecake and each managed to demolish the ample portion of homemade...
