A good friend recommend this place. You can't book on a Sunday but we were seated fast considering it was pretty busy. A choice of lamb, pork or rare roast beef and around £15 per main. Decent portions, superb cauliflower cheese and roast potatoes - the meat was cooked beautifully, the Yorkshire was a little dry but all in all... More

This hotel looks very nice from the outside and is pretty well maintained but the food is very expensive for what it is and there are much cheaper places with just the same quality elsewhere so if I wouldn't eat dinner at the hotel in future. The rooms were OK but very small and the shower in our room was... More

Poppped up from Brighton with two other couples for a night out. The staff were friendly and welcoming and the venue had old world charm The food, however, let most of us down I had fish which was lovely, albeit a little on the cool side. Two of my colleagues had the lamb stew which was tough. My husband had... More

Went there for lunch on our way to Brighton. They found a lovely table for us next to a log fire, very welcome on a cold day. As I wasn't hungry I just had the scallop starter which was beautiful. Everyone else in our part enjoyed what they had - fish and chips, beef burger and monkfish - all excellent.... More

We loved the village: the room was lovely and the staff were great. the downside was that the food lacked consistency in quality. A clear example was the breakfasts. We both had the same for both breakfasts. and agreed that the chef on our second morning cooked the food to a much higher standard on the second morning. The evening... More

Gorgeous country pub in a beautiful village with extremely friendly and helpful staff, cosy fires, stunning bedrooms, exceptional food and delicious wine. Particularly impressed by Philomena and Phil who went out of their way on several occasions. Absolutely no negative feedback at all - can't wait to go back!

Made our way to The Bull after hearing many good things. We ordered food and drinks - wine 8 pounds a glass which was good but a little too expensive for what it was. The food arrived - scallops really small and disappointing, terrine, very small portion - where was the fish? . The mains arrived - croquettes and fish... More

It all started so well, the Bull was very crowded and had lots of atmosphere, no booking allowed which is a bit of a pain but we managed to get the last big table which we were pleased about as there was 6 of us, the staff were friendly and amenable if a tad slow with the service, the starters... Spent one night B&B in double room that was beautifully laid out and furnished. Lovely welcome with a drink on the the house when checking in. Although our room overlooked the High Street the sound proofing was excellent so the traffic noise did not disturb us at all. Very impressive. In-room mini-bar available with complimentary tea, coffee, water and biscuits... More
