We staid there for 3 nights. The rooms are basic yes it is true but with hot water and clean bathroom clean sheets and towels. But the main point is the service and especially Alvaro who is amazing and so helpful with his clients and us. He really wants to make our journey a good experience and souvenir so muchas...

This hotel must have been nice when it opened some 30 years ago. Now it's not anymore. Rooms are dirty, shower sometimes gives hot water. For breakfast we received 3 mornings burned toast. And the price was about the highest we've paid in Chile. All because there was nothing else available, at least we couldn't find it upfront. Something positive:...

Hotel is conveniently located near the entrance of Putre. Accommodations are basic but very comfortable with electrical heater in the room, great wifi and hot shower. For the first time in weeks in Peru and Chile we even had to mix the hot water with cold water! The hotel needs some renovation but our two night stay was very pleasant....

This hotel offers basic accommodation. Rooms are medium size, bathrooms are small and everything is quite dated. They offer breakfast and dinner (extra cost), but the food is mediocre quality and preparation is unappealing. One meal we had appeared to be re-heated.

This large hotel was built to host workers of a mining company. Most rooms are no longer operational. The remaining rooms are not well maintained. In my room the shower was leaking all day (and night). Several pieces of furniture where severely damaged. However, the bed was comfortable and there was hot water. The staff was friendly, but not very...

We have stayed here for 2 nights in August. First of all if you consider to stay here call the hotel direct. By booking via Booking.com we have paid double!!!! Rip off! Hotel staff do not speak a word of English. Rooms are very basic, carpets are old, bathroom falling apart. Yes there is a heater in the room, but...

We arrive in putre without any reservation and were willing to spend 2 days here. The guy at the front desk found a way to give us a room for these two nights. The staff from the hotel (reception and restaurant) doesn't speak any English but was really kind, nice and helpful during our stay. The hotel is well located,...

Hotel las Vicuñas offers Spartan but acceptable accommodation and friendly English-speaking management. Dorm-like rooms have comfortable beds and hot-water showers which are welcome in a region where some hostels pipe in fresh snow melt. There are extra blankets but you may need to ask for more because it freezes here every night of the year and rooms are not heated....

For CLP 40.000 a night this hotel seemed overpriced. We got a clean but soulless dorm-type room that had a cracked window with holes in it. Breakfast was probably the worst Chilean hotel breakfast I have experienced (and I have had a lot), although the bread was warm and fresh. We were glad we didn't opt for the full board,...

Lauca National Park, including Lake Chungara, is a global biosphere reserve and one of the most beautiful locations in Chile (or in the Americas). It is a must visit for birders and those interested in the incredible scenic beauty of the altiplano and the surrounding volcanic peaks. Putre, at 11,000 feet, is a good staging location for day trips up...
