Stayed here for 2 nights. Room was very comfortable with tea and coffee making facilities in the room. Bathroom totally adequate with very good shower. Excellent breakfast both mornings. Our only complaint is that we couldnt get the room temperature to go above 19 degrees. The hotel itself is on the outskirts of Pontypool town centre. There is about a 5 minute drive into Cwmbran, a 10 minute drive to the M4 and about 15 minutes from Abergavenny. Adjacent to the hotel is a very good Harvester restaurant. A good choice if visiting the area.

Exceeded expectations, would 100% recommend to other travellers visiting the area. Food was excellent, staff friendly and efficient, room and bed comfortable and very clean. There is a large car park and a Harvester right next door. As a base to visit other historic areas its perfect we will definitely be staying there again when were in this part of the world.

Everywhere was clean. The room was basic, but the beds were comfortable and the door chain was missing. There was also some sort of stain on the headboard. Unfortunately the full breakfast was not value for money as the cooked part was not edible. When you have a long journey ahead this is not what you need beforehand. The rest of the staff worked very hard to give us a pleasant stay.

Stayed one night. Room was clean and comfy. Breakfast was in their own restaurant and there was plenty of choice and the cooked breakfast was good and set us up for the day.

My only quibble is that the lights were not on in the car park to the Harvester when we went for dinner and though only a very short distance it was dark - luckily I had my torch in my bag.
