We LOVED this place from the moment we arrived; the warm welcome from Dave & Javier (not forgetting Carson the dog!) set the tone for our four days. The house is amazing; old details and modern twists blended together; there’s a new design detail to discover everywhere you look. The room was beautiful and comfortable (we stayed in the Loft), with a fantastic little sitting area up some stairs. Dave & Javier gave us some great tips for our days out walking or in Oviedo; coming back, it was great to have a cuppa in the cosy snug or a glass of wine out in the garden, looking at the amazing mountain views. All topped off by Dave’s home-cooked breakfasts and dinners using local produce and his own breads/cakes. One of us is coealiac and here too they went the extra mile, ensuring everything was gluten-free and even baking delicious GF cakes. El gran sueño is so good, it really is a slice of Asturias heaven - gracias Dave & Javier for making our stay with you so perfect!

I have spent a long weekend with my couple at El Gran Sueño. The hotel is surrounded by mountains, green and close to awesome National Parks and Lagos de Covadonga. It was a pleasure to have the breakfast in the garden, enjoying the homemade bread and cakes baked by Dave every morning and the local ecological products. The room was spacious and really comfortable, mixing old restored and modern furnitures, without missing any detail. And Dave and Javier were always willing to give us advices about villages, walks or restaurants. If you are looking for a relaxing experience to enjoy nature and stars at night, this is your place.

Thank you Javier and Dave!

My wife and i have recently returned from a two week vacation at El Gran Sueno in Asturias, Spain. We arrived in the hamlet where El Gran Sueno is nestled, and my wife asks, "what are we going to do for two weeks here"? Fast forward, two of the best weeks we have spent in Spain having lived in Barcelona for the past five years. You are met by Dave and/or Javier, the premier hosts and most likely Carson, their dog, will greet you too. He was our official guide dog, walked him every afternoon, local country road or through the fields and woods, fun getting lost a few times but always ended back at the B&B. El Gran Sueno is decorated beautifully, immaculately maintained, with majestic views. Serenly quiet, you can hear yourself breath. Breakfast and dinner always a treat. If weather prevails, eat outside otherwise the dining room or snug are excellent options. And Dave's daily homemade fresh bread, fresh fruits, eggs, all farm to table ingredients served on china that is as special as the food. Excellent choice of wines and spirits. Enjoy an afternoon drink on the lawn in the adirondack chairs and marvel at the vistas and changing cloud formations.

Dave and Javier have honed in on their area. They know every inch and are happy to print out daily excursions with detailed directions, sites and restaurants. Whether fishing villages on the coast or hiking directly form the B&B or in the Picos or kayaking on rivers where you are the only kayaker, your days will be fun filled. And they have excellent guides to accompany you on these adventures.

Their restaurant recommendations are outstanding, incredible fish, meats or vegan. And affordable.

Dave, Javier and Carson will make your stay effortless and memborable.

Enjoy this special slice of heaven.

We booked three nights over a long weekend, wanting something quiet and cozy in the countryside where we could walk and relax away from city life in Madrid. El Gran Sueño more than delivers on all fronts!

It's surrounded by beautiful hills and mountains in a tiny Asturian village. Each room is thoughtfully and uniquely designed and there are cozy spaces for relaxing with a cup of tea or drink. You can drive to take a hike or even better there are gorgeous walks right outside the door. It's located within an easy drive to several delicious restaurants and other things to see. We booked their dinner our last night and just wished we would have eaten there all three nights--definitely book a dinner at the house at least one night!

The real magic behind the place is the owners Dave and Javi (and their sweet pooch, Carson). From top to bottom El Gran Sueno is designed with guests in mind, from little things like bathroom mirrors that don't get foggy to answering questions and giving advice on how best to spend your time. You really can't fake hospitality and it's obvious from their impeccable B&B and warm, welcoming manner that they love what they do. We can't wait to visit again!

I could wax lyrical about this stunning retreat (& probably will for many a week / month / year) it’s honestly so fabulous. The best treat you can give yourself is, just, go!

It’s off the beaten track and all the better for it. Incredibly clean, amazing attention to detail and wonderful breakfasts and service. We were lucky enough to have a week there, staying in the terrace room and we could have stayed a month.....or more!

I unequivocally endorse all the other 5* reviewers points and do not understand the individual who gave the poor review.... without even staying there?! As another reviewer has said, the adult only element was a massive bonus for us.

Javier and Dave have obviously put their heart and soul into El Gran Sueño and gosh, but, it shows.

We wish them every success and for anyone wishing to stay in superb quality accommodation close to the lovely town of Infiesto, go, you won’t regret it.

La próxima.
