The apartment we booked was clean and with a breathtaking sea bay view, and you just need a couple of mins to move down and enter calm bay waters!! It’s a perfect choice for those who likes strolls and sightseeing, too. We enjoyed exploring the surrounds and walked to church of St. Nikolas and yacht station that’s just 15 mins away! Our first time in Pernera district that was unforgettable! Food and room service was also very good, and we also thank the host Mr. Costas for his welcoming attitude and smile!! We’ll definitely return again!!
Dear all, we hope our review will be useful!
The only good point about the hotel is its location! Sea view from every room, close to all amenities.
The rest was bad, as never... We stayed in other appart hotels and everywhere it was better!
Service... We don't think that there was any, receptionist isn't always there, we had to wait for 25 minutes to check in and then 20 minutes just to get the wifi password! Manager is rude and stingy... He only loves single women! Poor English of both ladies at he reception! No waiters during the day...
Rooms.. Huge and old! The furniture is back from 80-s, the beds are very uncomfortable, the pillows are really small an remind you the mattress for cats... The AC wasn't powerful enough, to cool down the room it took a least 2 hours! The toilet wasn't flashing properly, that was a bit of a mess:( Water was giving you the filling that its the last drops of oasis! I took me 35 minutes just to take a shower... Frustrating:(
Breakfast is very simple but ok for the price: toasts, margarine, cheap cheese and ham, tomatoes with cucumbers and fried eggs. The ba thing was that sugar was served in a plate with one spoon for all an without cover, the same with jam... Am sorry, but its summer and the breakfast is served on the open veranda... The cups and glasses aren't being checked before serving for sure! I surprisingly got dirty cap an my boyfriend a broken glass....
Dinner doesn't worth even seeing! Salads looked bad, due to the hot weather, hey should had been served properly! From th rest there were potatoes, boiled frozen vegetables and some macaroni, meet was presented in 2 kinds, my boyfriend was afraid to try it, even though he's very easy going with food... The drinks aren't included.
The pool was dirty-full of sand, because the shower was outside was broken... It's wasn't fixed for 2 days before we left.
It's important to keep in mind that u should get everything with u- extra towels for the beach, shampoos ect. The hair dryer isn't provided as well.
Booked with lastminute we didn't know what to expect with very little or no information on the internet but we were looking for a cheap deal and we found it.
The hotel is situated right next to a good sized private beach shared with 3 or so other hotels. It doesn't get particularly busy like the main beach in the area and you can sit on the hotels pool beds and walk down to the beach when you fancy it.
The rooms are very big (at least compared to the price we paid) very airy with their own balcony looking over the hotels pool and private beach (see photo). they are decorated very basically but other than that are ideal, perhaps a TV might be handy or it might make you stay in you room for far too long (to make myself clear there's no TV). Strangely our room was supplied with all British electrical plugs so anything you decide to bring would work fine. The room had a 4 ft fridge with a small freezer compartment, gas hobs and a microwave. The bathroom was a typical hotel bathroom and was fine, asking the cleaners to give it a through clean in the middle of the week is worth it as they tend to only change towels. Air conditioning is about an extra £2 CYP per day but is definitely worth getting the second you arrive.
The hotel is situated about 20 minute walk from Protaras centre, the walk is very nice going right down the beach and we had no trouble walking back and forth down it at night although it wouldn't be suitable for a wheelchair. There is quite a lot a restaurants just 2 minutes walk from the hotel most of which are quite good (Knight's Bar was a particular favourite) , but these won't keep you entertained for a week. Protaras has the typical mini golf and small arcades/funfairs to entertain the kids (and adults) and has far more restaurants as well as more shops etc. Enough to fill about a week, If your adventurous you'll head a little further a field to Ayia Napa which has "the largest water park in Europe" as well as many great pubs, clubs and everything else. It’s about a 20 minute drive away (the limit on the road is 30/40mph most of the way).
All in all we had a great stay and thought the Pola Costa was basic but definitely worth the money.
