After reading a lot of reviews, I selected The Manu Maharani for my new year celebration (31st Dec 2020).

Pros:
• The staff is very courteous and hospitality is amazing/unmatched.
• Buffet breakfast is great and with a wide variety and live counter options

Cons:
• Property is very old, rooms are small and fittings definitely need to be relooked at considering the price the property demands
• Wifi/Internet was down from 25th December and it was still not working for more than 7 days now (this is critical considering WFH scenarios and poor cellular reception in Nainital)
• Biggest bummer of the stay was that showers were in horrible condition (had to fallback to buckets)
• Lake view rooms are not exactly lake view, rather face their garden/trees.
• Central heating is pathetic and the same goes for room locks (sometimes the lock simply gives up on you) forcing round trips to the reception. I guess it is old as well.

Overall, I would not select this property next time for my stay at Nainital.

Stayed 14-16 December in Balcony Room. The stay was excellent. The room was extremely comfortable and spacious. The heating was working perfectly. The private balcony is huge and provides a great view of the town especially at night with all the house lights all across the mountain. The bathroom was a little small for comfort but manageable.
The staff was very courteous and helpful. Special mention for ND at the restaurant during breakfast buffet. He was so attentive to guest needs and so over eager to make you try everything on the buffet menu.
The location of the hotel is also great with just a 5 minute downhill walk to the town. You can always use the free hotel shuttle as well.
Its an expensive hotel but does provide great service as per its price tag.

hi Sukonya , I travelled with my mother on wheel chair and recently stayed in this hotel . The hotel has a wheel chair and their staff is very helpful they would lift the wheel chair from car park to the lobby area from where the wheel chair is moved . Do not choose their club room as this floor does not have a lift access . You may choose their terrace room or premium room on the lobby level floor . The staff would help all meals served in the room in case your father has a problem going to their dining area which is a level below and accessed by stairs. Anyways I think mostly all hotels in hills are made in steps but the staff at Manu maharani is very helpful don't worry .
