We were flying into Rome late at night and catching the early morning flight to Palermo. So we needed a place to stay overnight. This place was near the airport and they had a shuttle bus service. (Euro 6 per person.)
The room was huge and very neat. The ladies behind the counter were very friendly and they left the breakfast in the room as we were leaving at 6 am.
They also helped us with choosing the right bus back to the airport early in the morning. (Again Euro 6 per person)
The room was clean and spacious, excellent service by staff. The hotel was close to the airport and only cost us €6.00 per person for the shuttle bus.
The continental breakfast was pretty good - it was included in the room price.
There can only be one reason for a hostel residence about 5 km from Fiumicino Airport, and that is for an overnight stop while using the airport Airport Hotels are costly and this is excellent value. The anomaly is that our room for 2 was the size of an average family flat, with more storage space, cupboards and wardrobes than we have at home! You just don't need this sort of room for one night, and there is nothing else to do nearby, and only a couple of pizza places and a very average restaurant within walking distance.
The cleanliness, comfort and reception were very good and Samuel and Maria Grazing were personable, helpful and efficient.
The downside was having to keep windows shut because of the aircraft noise, a shower that wouldn't stay up, a bedside light which couldn't plug in and very weak wifi in the room.
The shuttle from the airport worked well once we had located the stop at Terminal 3 for 6 euros a head for a 10 minute ride, and saved us paying a lot more for an airport taxi.
A good stop on the way from the airport to cruise terminal. would recommend.
I have always stayed at the Hilton Airport Hotel when flying out of Rome. The price is around 280 euro. This time I went, they were full so I took a chance on the Amelindo. The price was 75 euro and it was great! The shuttle to/from the airport is 6 euro per person, and they accept pets. I will never waste 200 euro more to stay at the Hilton! The Amelindo has 1 bedroom apartments with full kitchen, a deck, and a fenced yard for each unit. Perfect for my little dog!
A basic hotel apartment. Large & clean rooms. Breakfast is not very great. The tv sets in the room have only Italian channels. Far away from Rome and travel is expensive in Rome.
Very peaceful neighborhood, with deserted streets at night. Not too.many restaurants close by, unless you like pizzas. Nothing much to like about this place, except it is close to the airport.
