Some friends took us to this restaurant for dinner 'frankisch' style and it didn't disappoint. I've tried the local soup and sour beef with some uniquely special type of mashed potatoes. Portions were large which unfortunately meant I didn't have room for desert. And it was all quite affordable.
We stayed one night at this hotel in September 2014. Wiesenthheid is one of many small towns near the autobahn that cater for travellers passing through Germany. The hotel is well located in the centre and has plenty of parking space. We got a good room with plenty og space, clean and with good beds. No problem either with the breakfast. So the negative side is the personnell. Very business-like to the point of not seeming friendly. We used their restaurant in the evening - reasonable without being exceptional- but when one of our party pointed out that part of the meal was not wuite what we had expected from the menu, the short, sharp reply was "then you should have chosen something else" with no sign of trying to help. So its OK to stay here if you avoid the restaurant but I think we will look for somehwere else next time.
This is a very nice, historical family operated Hotel.
My room was always clean, the furnitures maybe need an upgrade In the room, but not really a problem.
The Staff were very nice with me, I had very lovely dinner In their restaurant.
The Tv's and the channels need an upgrade. No international channels only an old small tv In the room, which can be romantic, but not when you're Alone on a Business trip.
In total IT was a lovely stay without any disturbing.
