We stayed here for 2 nights. Nice clean rooms, short 2 min walk into Ella. The staff were friendly. The only thing that could have made it better would be the option of breakfast or drinks, however there was a kettle and tea and coffee in the room.
We traveled to Ella via train. After a 9 hour train ride we were glad to end up here. First of all we booked the dulux family room and had 4 single beds in the room. Second the bathroom is second to none. Huge shower clean and hot water. Loved after a long train ride. Downside is there is no aircon just a fan. However the owner is amazing he helped us with buses. There are maps and bus times all over the reception and there is a Restaurant just next door.
The property does not provide food or drink however the room comes with Tea and coffee and water. There is a fridge to store things in if you need. Bare in mind this hotel.is hidden behind the main road and there are no lights walking up the hill to the place so be mindful take a torch or a charged phone to Guide you up the hill.
Over all very pleasent and would stay again.
We stayed one night in this hotel. It's a small hotel but very good customer service.it's only 200m away from Ella town.Strategic location. No good view from hotel. But easy access to all attractions.Room also value for money.Recommended.
This is place with 4 bedrooms and common area. Very close to the Ella town and other restaurants. Even though there's a good view..the view from the tress house was the best.
Samantha the care taker is really friendly and assist us throughout.
Will come back for sure.
We stayed here for 2 nights and although this was the simplest property (like a homestay) in our 10 day tour of Sri Lanka, in terms of service it ranked right up there with some of the more fancied ones. What sets it apart is the father and son team who run this property and are very passionate about what they do...currently, this is only a 5 room property but they are planning to add 2 more floors to increase the no. of rooms to 10-15 over the next 1 year or so.
Rooms were spacious and clean although they lacked an aircon and TV. Although we were not bothered with absence of TV, we did feel an aircon would have been nice and hope Tharaka (owner's son) will look into this as he looks to expand the property. Location wise, it is less than a 10 minute walk from the main market which has all the main restaurants, frequented by tourists in Ella in the evening.
Special word for the cook - he served us a tasty breakfast and fresh watermelon juice after both our morning treks (Ella Rock & Little Adam's Peak) which was refreshing to say the least. We even tried lunch on one of the days and Sri Lankan rice with Fish Curry was very good. There is also a Dart board in the small dining area and we had fun during the evenings with the same.
Thanks Team Ella Soul for your hospitality!
