We stayed at this top quality hotel for a week and enjoyed one of the best hotels we have stayed in for a good while. The location is excellent - 5 minutes up a hill from the centre of Bonifacio which affords the hotel the best possible views towards the Citadelle. This a modern, boutique style hotel with villa style rooms, in our case with a terrace looking towards the Citadelle. Rooms are spacious, quiet, private and have an en suite again not lacking size. Beds are huge and comfortable and the walk in shower is great. The pool is the focal point for the hotel and is well maintained and clean. We enjoyed the buffer breakfast with eggs to order. The restaurant serves quality food at lunchtime and in the evening. There is a small gym which we didn't use and a first class Range Rover shuttle to take residents in to town. The hotel lacks any real lounge space and the bar is virtually non existent but with glorious weather take a drink outdoors. Staff can't do enough for you and the on site car park is handy for the many rental cars parked there. Very, very good and if you like top quality give the Verson Maquis a go.
This small boutique hotel was perfect. The staff always went above and beyond! Not only were they there to take care of your requests they also provide a shuttle into town! The breakfast buffet was superb! The rooms are modern and lovely. The bed was so comfortable. Our room had a gorgeous private view. Apparently a spa is under construction - which will be great. We had dinner one night and it was a great meal. This is wonderful place to relax and unwind in a luxurious fashion. I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Corsica! thank you to the team and especially Anna-Sophia for treating us so well.
Hotel Version Maquis Citadelle was our first stop on our honeymoon and it was well worth it. Johanna the front office manager was very friendly and extremely helpful in making dinner reservations, providing Corsica recommendations, and even resolving an issue we had with our car rental. The VM restaurant has great food and a killer breakfast buffet. The pool was refreshing and our hotel room & patio were relaxing. Thanks again Johanna and the rest of staff for the great experience!
The staff are very friendly and helpful plus good in English which was very helpful for us as our French was almost non existent.
The chefs are top of the class, the meals we had there are absolutely dreamy, packed with flavour and making your head spin with joy!
The infinity pool is top of the range too! Usually I don’t use swimming pools as they are heavily chlorinated and I always end up with an unpleasant reaction. This one though is not heavily chlorinated (or possibly not chlorinated at all), the water is clear and clean, no bad reactions but offered perfect relaxation.
The room is beautiful with all the amenities one needs when travelling (even a powerful hairdryer!), private terrace and a silent(!) aircon! Not to mention always immaculately clean - serviced twice daily!
Furthermore the hotel enjoys a beautiful view onto Bonifacio which creates also perfect background for the special holiday photos.
One of the greatest services they do for their guests is the free drop off and pick up to and from Bonifacio on daily basis. This way you avoid driving down, looking for parking and saying no to a cold, refreshing beer! We were very happy to use this service and feel they’ve gone the extra mile and really look after their guests. (Also on offer is free rental of their electric bicycles but we haven’t used them this time.)
Big thank you to all the staff members, we had an unforgettable stay!
Request for a room with a view of the Citadel if you'd like that though each of the rooms has its own charm. Its an indulgence to stay at this hotel but worth it. We stayed for 3 nights and enjoyed the property as well as its proximity to Bonifacio which is truly stunning.
