We recomend to go to next door hotel Walauwa which is very nice and cheaper

I was there for only one night I wanted to stay 4 nights but then I changed idea. Here the reasons why: first of all the cleaning of the room, there was an excrement on the head of the bed, the light bulb in the bath mirror was missing, the curtain on the window bathroom was missing and people from the opposite flat could see you and then it was full of ants everywhere!!! I attach pictures of the situation.
Positive things: the guest house is 5 minutes walk from the beach, the kitchen where they prepare breakfast and dinner I suppose is very clean and the waiter who serves breakfast is very kind. T

Kamal and his family are some of the most supportive and friendliest people I have ever met. They took me in and gave a very clean triple bed room when I didn't have my U.S. passport, Indian and Sri Lankan visas, money, debit card, and phone; drove me around Colombo two days in a row to get my passport and visas taken care of, took me to a fantastic surfing beach, and took care of me while I sorted things out.
Of course the food is also great and the beach is very beautiful, especially with the boulders and natural pool on one side and miles of open beach on the other.

We arrived with no reservation and still got a very big, clean room with big bed and an excellent bathroom. We asked for a mosquito net and Kamal provided a brand new, tentlike net! Airconditioner is big and cools the room in minutes.
Breakfast is nice and you will leave with a full stomach.
The beach is only couple of minutes walk away with a long strech of sand.
Overall, excellent place to spend some relaxing time!
