We spent 3 nights with Dominic at his homestay and loved it. Clean room and bathroom, home cooked delicious dinner and great location. Dominic and his family were extremely welcoming, friendly and helpful. Thank you to you all.

Highly recommend this homestay if you are looking to stay in Marari Beach.

The very long golden sand beach is quiet most of the day getting busier for sunset and on Saturdays. There are beds or chairs for hire but not so many that they make the beach crowded. There are a few beach cafes so there is a choice.

There is a notice on the beach warning that the sea is dangerous, it shelves quite steeply but whilst it may not be the best for swimming there is still a lot of fun to be had in the surf.

Only downside is that, with rising popularity, there is the associated rubbish that gets left.

Dominic told me that he and friends clean the beach on a Sunday but if this beautiful place gets more popular he may have to call in a few more to help.

Very nice homestay on Marari beach with local family. Price on trip advisor is WRONG! Bed and breakfast is 2000 rupees per night for 2 people and 1500 for single occupancy....
5 mins from beach, quiet and relaxed, rooms with breezy verandha. Best of all is dinner, a spectacular feast with huge hunk of tuna and all the trimmings! wonderful parotha and veg curries too. Dominic and his family are attentive to all your needs!

We have stayed there for three nights. They are running a very good family business. The crew is extremly friendly, helpful and honest. They have organized everything for us like taxi from the Kochin airport or a houseboat tour in Kerela backwaters. Because we were there off season, the price was less than we thought and they told us about this even though we had already booked, which was very relaxing. They also cook very delicious Indian food, including the fresh fish they catch everyday at the same beach. The beach is absolutely amazing, water is very clean and warm, and you almost have it all for yourself because this is not a big hotel. As we were there, they surprized another visitor by decorating the outside of their room and bringing a cake because it was her birthday. The manager told us about his plans to make it even better, so you will probably like it even more. We could not be happier!

We had a very pleasant stay in this homestay. Dominic, the owner, is discret but very friendly and helpful when we need. All his family also.
The bungalow (with A/C for us) is confortable. You also have non A/C room, less expensive.
There is hot water for the shower the whole day : i mention it because it is not the case everywhere.
The garden is very pleasant and clean.
The breakfast is very good : tea, pancakes with coconut and cardamome (excellent), toast, butter, jam, bananas. Just perfect to start a good day!
Dominic's wife cook delicious meal for you if you ask her. We ordered a fish curry and a vegetable curry. It was sooooo good and not too spicy for us, and served with a fresh tomato salad and a fresh guava juice.

There is an other twin bungalow just on the beach. I talk to people who stayed there and they were delighted : they enjoyed living like "Robinson Crusoe" , in front of the sea.

I recommand this homestay!

The little self contained unit I stayed in is in the front yard of Dominic and his families' home. It is maintained so well, the yard cleared and swept and the room fresh and airy. When I needed to contact my family Dominic lent me his pocket wi-fi and gave me help and advice. I felt safe and relaxed there and recommend Arapakal highly as a no-frills relaxing place to stay.
