We are back again traveling taking baby steps in these difficult civic-19 times we went to ventura for the weekend and we stayed at the crowne plaza hotel. The hotel is very nice , friendly staffs, the room was very nice clean ,and the pool was nice and well kept , we had room service the food was good not great I wish they would have a more extensive menus for room service but we were satisfied with the service. If I had to do some constructive criticism I would say that if you are paying about 200$ a night the least they could do is not charge you for the parking space, also I wish that they would built some stairs right off the hotel to the beach so you don’t have to carry your gear to the sand a long way . Other than that we had fun 😃

This property is located right on the beach and within walking distance of some great restaurants. The beach boardwalk runs right in front of the hotel. The hotel is furnished simply throughout and slightly outdated but it is clean. The keys were a pain to use...we continually had to replace them because they never worked or if they did it was with many attempts. Even the maids were complaining that their keys were not working. The service people were all very friendly and helpful and the bar which was busy was great in getting you drinks in a timely manner. Perhaps I am a little out of touch with room rates but I did think that the $200+ a night rates were a bit high for this class of a hotel in a town like Ventura. The other thing that was not great was the train running right on the other side of the hotel...a bit noisy. If you don't care about a lot of higher star amenities and furnishings, this hotel is great for the location.

Dear. goldengategurl, Thank you for staying with the Crowne Plaza Ventura Beach. We are pleased to hear that you enjoyed the local area and were able to take advantage of the local restaurants in the area. Please know that the hotel is replacing all our guest room key locks with a new modern system in the next couple months and we hope we have an opportunity to share with you our improvements. Thank you again for your time and business.

Traveling with my husband while he is working. We have stayed at this hotel in the past with our two small dogs and we were pleased. Today when we checked in our room, they put us into a room that had no sofa nor a side chair. What they did have was a hard folding chair. This was ridiculous, what were we to do if we wanted to eat in our room? Eat on our Bed.? Their maintenance man Jose was very help and was able to find us a side chair. Thank you Jose, but I do not recommend this hotel if you have pets, because you will not get any comfortable furniture to sit or lounge on.

In my opinion this hotel is poor value for money. We asked for an Ocean View and at best was given a Bay view. Whilst well apportioned the room decor was shabby with stains on the carpet.
Extra fee of $6.99 was charged for use of the Internet from the room and a $10 fee was also added to the bill without prior notification for parking the car. Breakfast was not included in the room rate at $128 and the 'heated' swimming pool was very cold, yet the fan in the room could not be controlled (discovered halfway during the night!!)
Overall a very disappointing and expensive stay for what was offerred.

Sorry I can't help, we booked the executive king, west (sunset) facing room with 2 balconies. Loved it - sofa has a decent pullout bed if you need second bed; fridge, microwave +K-cup coffee. We didn't sleep on sofa bed, but did open it up just too see if it was acceptable - it is. Great staff, and food here. Enjoy!

Hi, is breakfast included with the room rate?
Answer from Barbara K

AAA card will get you lower rates. Great views from the rooms, but I find hotel is too box-like, probably built in the 70s... Check out other options. There are no 'designer' hotels here.

Good morning from the Crowne Plaza Ventura Beach! Our dog policy is we charge a $75.00 non refundable pet fee and all dogs are restricted to the 4th floor only unless of course it's a service animal. We have no restrictions when it comes to type of dog or size. In regards to microwaves and refrigerators these are standard in all guest rooms. Kind Regards, Daniel Quintana Director of Operations
