This hotel was awesome. It was a great place for home base, easy to walk to restaurants and shopping. Room and hotel were very clean. Beds were comfortable. The decor is super cute. John and his sons were great hosts!
When we first drove up I had second thoughts about staying. The building front is original so dates back and looks like it. But once we got inside we were greeted right away by one of the owners. The lobby is well done to period with high ceilings adorned by lighted fans. The wood appears to be mahogany and beautifully kept. Our room was downstairs. It was small but beautifully done to the period also with the exception of a small fridge. Modern bathroom with a very nice shower.
We met the co owner the next day, the mother of the two children we met doing homework the day we checked in. Their son opened the door for us with a flourish.
There was a continental breakfast served and snacks all day.
Only complaint is the one ply toilet paper
Cute and clean. Stayed one night but would have liked to stay more . Cute rooms . Our room had its own little balcony . Also had a courtyard with tables and chairs . Bed was very comfortable. Continental breakfast . Also had snacks . Small and quaint. Was just perfect . Felt like home . Owner was very friendly. Definitely recommend.
This is our second visit. We stay here while attending the American Players Theater performances in nearby Spring Green. The hotel is a pleasant, relaxing experience in itself, but especially compared with fighting the crowds in Spring Green during APT season. While Spring Green diners wait an hour for a table in a restaurant or are consumed by mosquitoes before they can consume their picnic dinners, we have our choice of several restaurants with immediate seating within two blocks of the Mineral Point Hotel. The hotel itself combines the best features of a hotel and a B&B: historic and charming building but with an uncluttered guest room and a modern comfortable bed (and a small fridge); easy online reservations and keypad front entry, but with flexibility and personal service; host couple who are accessible and friendly but not at all intrusive; plenty of free parking on the street within a few steps of the hotel.
The look of the front belies the quality of accommodations we had. Pleasant first floor room. Very comfortable bed with exceptionally nice sheets/pillows/etc. Fun little "balcony" out a back door. Nice little array of treats out in the morning along with a pot of coffee in the quaint lobby. I doubt if we'd ever stay there again, but I'd recommend you give it a try. And, by the way, you'll find very friendly folks at the Brewery Creek Brewpub down the street, and in the stores downtown.
