Due to all the global restrictions, the hotel was very quite without many guests, but this didn't seem to stop the hotel catering for the guests properly.
Xmas day especially, with Santa visiting during the afternoon, a lovely banquet dinner and a live band on the outdoor stage.
It's a sun worshippers paradise, not much natural shade so perfect for getting some vitamin D.
The hotel grounds were well kept and in good order.
There's 2 different pool areas, 1 for family's with kids, the other was a quite area.
The hotel rooms were fresh and clean, the showers could do with attention as both our rooms ended up like wet rooms with excess water all over.
Food was varied and fresh. There was a pizza station, 2 hot plates constantly cooking either fresh fish or meat, plus all of the food in the bain-maries.
Loads of desserts to choose from.
All staff member were very friendly.
We spend 2 weeks with our two sons (3,10) and had very positive experience.
The food was varied and tasty. Because of Covid there were very few quests so no queues at all.
Water in the main pool was not always heated - this could be improved.
Also we originally booked in 3* Aloe Club which has seperate bedroom - in Bahia de Lobos the we slept all in one room. The room itself is rather large.
All in all it was a very pleasant stay.
Husband and I were due to stay in Calletta De Fuste at the sister hotel, Hotel Dorado, after receiving no email from On The Beach (with whom we shall be asking why). On arriving at the hotel, we were informed we had been upgraded to bed and breakfast and here are your wrist bands, not impressed as we book self catering for a reason. We were told where our room was and set off to find said room very impressed, large and airy, patio doors leading onto a patio area over looking the kids and adults pool.
With a two minute walk into correleco itself, not a bad position for a hotel. Next morning we went out onto the pool area but noted, of around 50 plus sunbeds that there was out only 10 umbrellas were in use, out of that only 6 umbrellas were in good condition, the rest had ripped fabric or wouldnt stay up, and we were hugely disappointed, as the pool was a children's pool, as a mother of children, my priority is having an umbrella for my children to have shelter from the sun. (Although I didn't come with children I still look out for this) surely a 4 star hotel would make sure enough umbrellas were available????!!!!!!
We went for a drink at the pool bar, tried to pay cash but were told the bar man wasnt accepting cash because of the current situation and we would have to show our wrist bands, nope dont do wristbands nothing controlled as to when we have or dont have breakfast dinner and tea, we're not sheep, we can make our own minds up,so we didnt spend any more money at the hotel because of this.
Housekeeping were brilliant kept our rooms clean and provided us with clean towels and clean sheets - thank you
Life guards were very overbearing and not friendly AT ALL
Very nice location, well mainteined property, friendly staff, not very crowdy. Nice room, with view to the smaller pool. Only one room issue was the shower - water was all over the floor because glass wall was just too short and taking shower was just messy. Anyway - great place to stay!
I booked this hotel and after reading the trip advisor reviews tried to change hotel as the reviews were not very good.... however
I am glad we did not change. The hotel are observing Covid rules and I guess the ones complaining about the staff moaning at them are the ones who broke the rules. You literally have to wear a mask everywhere in Fuerterventura unless you are sat down, eating or drinking. This is not the hotel rules, it is the government. It was a bit uncomfortable wearing it a mask in 26 degree heat but you have no choice!
The hotel itself is clean and tidy.
The rooms are quite big with minimalistic furniture consisting of 2 single beds, equivalent to a camp bed but with a decent mattress on them, a tv, sofa bed, desk and chair and the bathroom is big with a shower (could do with a decent shower head fitted and the bathroom ended up like a swimming pool) big sink, toilet and hairdryer.
Air con was good
The hotel has 2 big pools and a children’s pool.
The restaurant had a good array of salad, pizza’s and a different meat and fish dish every night. It was nice and clean.
Overall the hotel was excellent. Not a UK 4 star standard more like a 3 but we enjoyed it. The sun was shining, we had food and a place to sleep.
The strip is literally a 2 minute walk from the hotel with lots of shops and restaurants.
