Very clean, the staff does his best effort to make your feel confortable, the food is great with options (international and indian). The room has a great view with the river and sound of nature all around.
We were eager to explore Rishikesh after a crowded visit to Mussoorie, though our hotel there was fine too but we needed a serene escapade and thus started searching for some place,my husband found about this place among the forests few kilometres away from Rishikesh but the photos and reviews made us book this spot.
Rainforest house is a beautiful property in the vicinity of nature..the ganga water is flowing right next to the hotel rooms and there are lot of recreational activities you can do there. We did yoga in nature and it just felt divine. The only issue is that if you will reach late like we did to this place you will have little difficulty in finding the place, though they are working on many things around and hopefully it will only make the place a busier hideout for lot of travellers..
The food was very soothing and subtle too, there is no television in the room and you will feel at peace with yourself once there. It’s a great place for kids too, there were many families with kids and they seemed to enjoy a lot.
Just below the place as you’ll walk there is a track that leads you near to the river were rafting boats were going..this place is also a stopping point for rafters.
It’s a beautiful property and I would suggest everyone and anyone thinking of a hideout to visit this place!!
We had a great time!
I love this place. I love that I'll return to it in November.
The path from the road is easily managed for most if not all, particularly because if you let Manish (more on him below), someone will meet you to help you with your bags. If you'll return after dark, have a light. The function on my phone was sufficient.
The yelps of joy from the rafters between about 11:00 and 5:00 did not detract for me. They are having a blast. If you sit closer the waterfall/stream, the sounds of that drown out the humans.
That waterfall/stream is so relaxing.
The short walk to Ma Ganga is great. You can go off to one side and have a bit more privacy from the rafters. Or go first thing in the morning. Peace exemplified.
The room is well appointed, clean. Happy to have no tv/phone. Wifi worked in my room well, though I would have been happy without it. Towels, quick and plenty hot water, warm bed, fan and a/c should you need.
Swing and hammock, yay!
The food is clean, healthy and delicous. That banana lassi! The dahl was some of my favorite across India.
The staff-the best. Manish is a star. He is so helpful and gracious. I loved chatting with him when he had a few minutes. Everyone I interacted with was kind and smiling.
This place is a getaway, and a beautiful one.
It’s a really rustic and beautiful place to stay in Rishikesh also food is excellent but the only minus that I found at this place was the washroom..they only had toilet paper and no hand shower ...which from the hygiene perspective is important to Indians..maybe Americans are ok with only toilet paper but I feel that if you charge good amounts of money basic amenities are a must..also I had to request for a mug and bucket...that was the only minus for me...it’s a very beautiful place to spend your days in Rishikesh if you don’t mind this..also one more detail..the sheets though were clean were smelling very dusty...it seemed no one had stayed in the room for ages and the staff hadn’t bothered to change it...I really didn’t want to write anything and about this place but I just feel that the owners should do something about this to make it a little more comfortable place for the patrons ..
We stay there over a long weekend in the summer. We were in the Jamun Kutir and liked our room. It was fine and comfortable despite being referred to as "rustic", There was hot water, A/C and even wireless. No TV. The food was vegetarian and fine and tasty The service exemplary -- everyone from Manish on down. We were served with a smile and nothing was lacking.
There were a few things we did not like. The location as described is down a dirt path off the main road. No problem with that except at night when you would find it difficult. The path being off the main road has thrash and that was disappointing. I would have expected the lodge to have cleaned it. The river is down a short walk over boulders and thrash. And it is noisy with the rafters landing at a rock that they like jumping off into the Ganges and screaming their excitement.
The stream by the property that gushes over boulders is pleasant and relaxing as is the rest of the property.
