Great apartment complex, there is a few flights of stairs to get to reception but there is lifts once you get in. We stayed in room 105, was about 10 steps from reception. there wasn't much of a veiw but balcony had sun all day. Apartment had everything we needed and was quiet at night. Was clean and modern. Kids were in the pool almost everyday and enjoyed a wee slushie from the pool bar. Staff were lovely and welcoming. There is also a washing machine costing 5€ very handy. Cleaners where in on a daily basis with clean towels and sheets for beds and all other cleaning duties. Close to the beach and centre strip with all the clubs, bars and restaurants. Would definitely be booking this apartment again in the future.
On arrival phillipe 2, checked us in our room was 102 so after going up loads of stair to get to reception we then had to go down another 4 flights to our room , it was clean had everything we needed but as it was on the bottom the view was of the corridor of the next-apartment block, small balcony with caged gates on for security. Next day we asked if we could move, as the place was full where told we could move in a few days to a 2 bed apartment that had a very small extra cost. We were happy to pay and moved rooms to 508. Lovely big apartment with great views and well worth the small charge. Got to say both Phillipe 1 (dayshift) and phillipe 2 (late shift) where so friendly and very helpful always had a friendly hello for everyone who walked by. 10euros for remote for telly that u get back when u return it to reception but there are only 2 English news channels but loads of radio stations for music. Pool areas is great u can buys drinks and snacks through out the day. I will defo return !! 😄
You get what you pay for. We stayed in block 'Z' which was a good sized self catering apartment. Slightly dated with a very small patio area on the ground floor but had a fridge, microwave, toaster and electric hob. These apartments are centrally located in Las Americas and are surrounded by noisy pubs and clubs, mostly frequented by young party goers. The night time 'buzz' can continue up until 5am! If you don't mind the distant club music pulsing through the night then these apartments are ideally situated in the town.
The pool area is quite pleasant with a couple of well sited sun terraces for the 'get there quick' prime sunbeds. Everything else like TV remote and WiFi and safe comes at a cost.
Stayed from 17th to 31st December.
Check in ok after negotiating about 25 steps with suitcases (no ramps).
My partner went straight out to buy cloths and bleach to clean the apartment before we even unpacked. Food particles on worktops and burnt on food in oven etc.
Worst beds ever, so uncomfortable.
No air con, ceiling fan in bedroom which was way too noisy when trying to sleep.
£10 to hire remote for tv (refundable). Don't bother unless you understand Spanish or French - no English channels.
Rooms a good size with adequate equipment although can do with updating.
Partial pool view and a sea view from our balcony.
Again lots of steps for access to pool area.
Pool area ok, very quiet but again whole area needs a lick of paint.
Bed linen not changed regularly enough. Maids in quite often but only a very quick wipe around, beds made and towels changed. Towels and bed linen very worn and some even had holes.
My partner set a little trap by placing some black fluff on the bedroom floor, this remained there for days until she swept it up herself.
Reception staff efficient if somewhat distant. Only one of them ever said hello when passing.
Location very good for everything but the noise from the nightclubs was too much for us and actually could go on till 6am.
Lots of dodgy characters around late at night around the nightclubs which you have to pass to get back to apartments. None of them ever bothered us but I did speak to someone who was offered sex and drugs.
I suppose you can tell me that you get what you pay for. To a certain extent I agree and don't expect 5 star facilities for 2 star prices but we were generally disappointed with Playazul and next Xmas we will be in Las Americas but albeit in a different hotel.
Rooms and pool are ok but access to all the facilities including check in, rooms and pool requires the visitor to negotiate masses of steep concrete stairs.
To start off with you will be obliged to drag suitcases up 30 stairs to reception area, the holiday letting rooms are mostly situated on lower floors. In my case (74 years old) this meant wobbling down 50 or so stairs whilst carrying two suitcases, its no exageration to say that to slip on this access way could result in a fatality
