Great location to airport, shopping and restaurants! Great breakfast buffet with hot food and evening social with beer and wine! Rooms are very clean and large. Nice workout facility and clean. Also nice pool area.
This is a small but very clean and nice Homewood Suite. Dinner was light - sliders and salad. The food, however, was fresh and tasty.
Hotel foot print is U-shaped with patio, pool, and basketball court in middle.
Room was a hybrid studio, suite as it has kitchen.
Checkin was done in seconds with app check-in. Nice staff.
Cracker Barrell within 100 feet, 5 Guys burgers too.
Overall the experience was good. Rooms clean, maids on time and efficient. Breakfast was very sparse one day due to staff shortage. The amenities were good, clean pool, workout room was adequate. Parking was no issue.
We stayed here over Memorial Weekend this year. We have family nearby but there isn't space there for what we wanted so we opted for our own area for sleep. This was perfect for that. Easy access, HOT water - which we love and hardly ever find at hotels, cold rooms - again hard to get at hotels. We stopped at the pool the first night but it was overrun with people. Again, this was Memorial Weekend so that was expected, but there didn't seem to be anyone checking on things. The towels were out, a large group had glass bottles and pizza ALL over (including IN the pool) and of course, kids were running everywhere. We spent about twenty minutes there and headed to the room to forego being jumped on. The breakfasts were decent and typical. They even have the good creamer. ;) We were thankful for the kitchenette in the room since we were traveling with two small children. We chose to lug the cooler to the room and keep the items we had in the refrigerator overnight which was convenient.
I stayed here a shot while ago, it met and exceeded expectations. While a standard Homewood Suites large two rooms, full kitchen, etc. This property sported several family themes besides a pool, basketball outside exercise area and a welcoming staff. The location is good to both downtown or the freeway if you need to move around region, staff is friendly, the meal options looked good, parking was easy. I also appreciated that they had both smoking and non smoking so we got entire team into same hotel.
Its also in a hotel area so several chain options in the cul de sac which also includes a Academy Sports so if you didnt pack everything or didnt plan on a rainy season its right next door. There were plenty of food choices in area and close to downtown McAllen (1.2 miles) and its offerings also. Its even closer probably a half mile or less to convention center.
