We stayed two nights in this hotel, and honestly the room was great. The beds were exceptionally comfortable. The refrigerator worked great, and the room - even the bathroom - seemed very, very clean.
But leaving the room was another story. We stayed in the midst of a pandemic that requires one thing: MASKS. Some guy was outside when we arrived talking and smoking and spewing everywhere, right by the door. We eeked past him, and checked in. Desk clerks were ALL masked! But coming down the hallway was a cleaning person, pushing a broom with her mask on her chin. Why wear a mask if it's going to be on your chin?! Worst of all, when we checked out, we had another cleaning person "help" us by getting right up in our faces. She had NO mask on at all, and she was cleaning rooms and touching our stuff!
I was also awakened both days by noise - either hallway noise or doors shutting, not sure which. I have a noise-maker that normally blocks out EVERY sound, but at this hotel it was impossible. We were on the top floor, too.
Outside of the pandemic, maybe this place is awesome. But I hated leaving the room at this hotel, because staff just didn't care. Maybe the whole state of PA is like this, but where we live, it's not. Scary times.
Stayed in room 304 which is located at the back of the hotel. Room had a king bed with refrigerator and microwave and a Keurig coffee maker. The room had a sitting area with a couch and chair. Lots of electrical outlets which was very convenient. Room was very quiet and clean. The staff was beyond courteous and helpful. Front desk was wonderful. Housekeeping went above and beyond. I was concerned about staying at a hotel during this pandemic, but as soon as I saw how clean this hotel is, I knew I had nothing to worry about.
There is a McDonalds and a Flying J within walking distance. Hotel also has a grab and go breakfast and a small convenience store inside with a variety of snacks and drinks. The gym was open to use.
The hotel was very full and quite busy, but the guests were as courteous as staff and were quiet and respectful. Really nice stay!
I really want to emphasize how hardworking the housekeeping staff are here. They really made this stay exceptional. They should be commended. I will definitely stay here again.
After a long day of driving we wanted to get north of the congestion through Wilkes-Barre and Scranton. But we didn't know that it would be more difficult to find a hotel and restaurant north of Scranton and no easy on/off exits. So we kept driving until we came to this Exit 219 at New Milford and saw a Holiday Inn Express sign. A welcome site!!
It was not easy to locate the hotel driveway! The bldg. is set back in a bit, behind some other businesses. We went into a wrong driveway at first. But eventually we found it!! Nice place. Price of the room was competitive. Friendly, courteous, helpful staff. Clean, nice first impression. Room and bed were clean and comfortable. Thankfully! Had a good night's stay!
There is a tavern very nearby. Family friendly. Sure was glad to see that instead of a fast food place. Had a good variety on the menu. They made a BIG, yummy burger that tasted good! We couldn't eat it all, it was so big!
And the hotel was convenient to a gas station nearby, which was helpful, too.
We would definitely go back to this hotel if we're in the area again!
This hotel is right next to a truck stop, near two gas stations, a Dunkin Doughnuts, McDonald's and a restaurant called Excaliber Bar & Grille. It's not exaclty scenic but it is easy to access from the highway and it's perfect for a short stay. I came here to meet my boyfriend for a fun overnight as we are in a long distance relationship, and it is a halfway point for both of us.
At check-in the staff member was really friendly and there were cookies out for you to take. The room was very spacious and very clean, which was a welcome surprise considering many hotels seem to be very lazy in their efforts to provide a clean room.
The bedding was basically a crisp and clean white, and honestly pretty comfortable. I don't always sleep well in hotels and didn't here, but it was no fault of the bed or bedding.
My boyfriend and I just made breakfast in time before they started clearing things out the next morning, but the attendant was really sweet and took her time cleaning, encouraging us to take our time and enjoy it. We did actually really enjoy the breakfast. It was buffet style and had the usual cereal, baked goods, coffee, juices, but also hot items such as scrambled eggs, bacon/suasage and even biscuits and a sausage gravy. It was delicious, with the highlight being the warm cinnamon rolls.
Overall you could tell the staff takes really good care of the hotel, are very welcoming and kind to customers, and take pride in what they do. The front desk attendant even went to grab a cookie for my boyfriend after we got back from dinner and saw that we had missed our opportunity to grab one or two.
The Excaliber Bar & Grille is also so close you can walk to it, and we had a good experience there as well. I would definitely stay here again if I needed a nice place to stay for a night or two.
We stayed here for one night and we were completely satisfied. The room was clean, modern, and quiet. Beer to go was available in the lobby, with delivery nearby. Better than average breakfast buffer for a 3 star motel. Friendly and efficient staff.
