Stayed in the Weatherspoon Hotel which forms part of the Weatherspoons pub attached. Was a really lovely room and the staff were so helpful. Sunday night is the best deal From £49.00
There is cheap food and drinks in the pub part.

The best hotel ever. The room was spotless and the comfy bed was to die for! White fluffy towels were changed daily. Tea and coffee making facility was excellent with beautiful Cornish biscuits. All staff were extremely polite and helpful. I would definitely stay here again.

I decided to go to Cornwall and stayed at the John Francis Basset Hotel as it was in the town centre and was part of the Wetherspoon chain. As I had stayed at another Wetherspoons hotel (pub) which good value and comfortable and quiet in the room.

However, the stay at this hotel was a different experience. The pub was very lively as you may well expect, but what I did not expect to hear was the hotel reception office door slamming shut every time a member of staff went through it. Now please understad, this was not just any door, this was a heavy fire door! and staff seem to be going in and out of the office at all sorts of anti-social hours. Being that I was on the ground floor near to reception, I wonder how much noise I would have had to put up with if I had been above the office.

The room was cold and the heat did not feel like to was actually working, fortunately for I saw there were 2 electric heaters under the wardrobe to keep us warm.

My advice to anyone looking to save here is try to a room as far away from reception as possible. The room you don't want is the room on the ground floor near reception

The usual grand old, repurposed Wetherspoons building. Huge, comfortable bedrooms
with a large en suite shower room. Plenty of tea and coffee, mineral waters and biscuits. There is a separate reception at this one with someone available 24 hours. The bar is usual Wetherspoons stuff, but very well managed. The food came out hot and fresh and the beer was well kept.
My only negative was that the shower tray had not been put in level and the water ran out on to the floor and the thermostat wouldn't go quite hot enough for my liking. Parking in the area is also a bit tricky.

This Hotel is centrally located to travel in Cornwall. I had the best time here and slept like a baby on the days we stayed there.
The family room where I stayed was equipped with everything, a dryer, an ironing board with an iron, tea, and coffee with beautiful cookies.
The bathroom as well had everything. A big shower, a large tub, and shower gel.
As it was a family room, it also had a pull out sofa bed for 2 people.
With a Wetherspoons just below, good food is very accessible. But please be assured that the noise from the pub doesn't reach you in your room.
