We arrived on Sunday, August 16. The room was absolutely filthy upon arrival. Hair all over the bed, urine stains on the bathroom floor. The front desk receptionist (African American woman working at 4pm on Sunday, August 16) was extremely defensive, rude, and refused to move us to a different room or refund us until we threatened to call Marriott. 3 rooms later, we found one that was marginally acceptable. The pool was inaccessible when it was supposed to be open at 7am. When we asked when it would be available, the front desk receptionist (African American woman working the morning of August 17, 2020) very rudely said "I don't know! I ain't no psychic!"...The housekeeper beat on our door at 8am and then proceeded to walk right in. My daughters were in their pajamas and my wife was in her undergarments. This hotel could be nice, but not with the rude people that work here. The incompetent cleaning staff doesn't even come close to doing their job. Cleaning a room during a pandemic should be more important than ever. If you value your health, your privacy, having a clean room, and being treated kindly, you should avoid this property at all costs.
So many positive things to say about this Fairfield Inn. We have stayed at many all over the country and can honestly say this was the best experience ever! We were in town for husband doctor appointment and OSU football game.. We picked this property because of location. It’s in a busy and congested area. But it’s worth it because there are so many restaurants , bars and shopping very close. Polaris mall is just down the street. What really impressed us was the amazing staff! Greeted by Patrick and given a early check in which was wonderful because we had started our day at 430am. Front desk always had a friendly face went entering or leaving lobby. Can’t say enough about Jalana the asst Mgr.!! She Was so helpful and genuinely nice!
Enjoyed talking to her! Also want to mention the General Mgr Keon who noticed was really hands on and very friendly! Shout out to Amy and Michael at front desk as well.
Room was a very nice and clean suite. We enjoyed the sitting area with desk and own television. Bed was super comfortable with really nice linens . Very good complimentary hot breakfast with large area for sitting. Had a pool with hot tub and exercise but did not use. Ps. Jalana got us the hotel van to drive us to a bar that was close by. Really just a great hotel with wonderful management ! Looking forward to returning in November.
We have stayed at this Fairfield Inn and Suites several times for business travels. The staff is always very courteous, the rooms are very clean, the breakfast in the morning is always exceptional. They do have a pool and exercise room which are very well kept. This is a great place to stay!
Pros: Impressive guest room, exceptional staff, above-average free breakfast, pool area with hot tub, numerous food options in immediate area.
Cons: Noisy air conditioning unit.
It's not often that I struggle to find fault with a hotel and while my experience here was limited to one night, I imagine I would have been happy spending much more time at this property.
The front desk staff was fast and friendly. The free breakfast offered quite a few hot food options and a large sitting area (usually hotels of this size have limited seating). The pool area, while small, included a hot tub (always a plus) and the hotel staff made sure towels were placed on the backs of all the chairs, even later in the evening.
The immediate area, close to the highway, features a lot of shopping centers and strip malls. While somewhat congested and commercialized, I appreciated having many nearby options for a meal and groceries. Once I check in to a hotel, it's nice not having to travel far for food.
I got upgraded to a fantastic suite with separate sitting area but I am inclined to believe all the property's rooms are well-maintained and nicely decorated. The bed was extremely comfortable, as is the case with most Marriott-branded hotels. My one and only complaint was a noisy air conditioning unit. Had I spent more than a night, I would have asked the staff to address it (or give me another room), but I (somewhat) fixed the rattle but adjusting the plastic front cover (the noisy motor remained but I slept through it).
I checked out hoping the next hotel would be almost as fantastic, which is one of the greatest complements I can give. Hope to be able to return at some point.
Went here with my family to stay 2 nights during the 4th of July. This hotel is a category 2 with marriott bonvoy points and I think it should be a 3 or 4. It does not have the typical outside look as most other fairfield inn properties since it is 6 floors and the exterior is mainly brick. I prefer how they designed it to the others. Public areas were kept well cleaned. It has good proximity to the polaris shopping area. I was very impressed overall with just about every aspect of the property. They had nicely displayed infused water in the lobby, as well as cookies. Breakfast in the morning was well stocked with many choices. The pool area also had a hot tub. The woman at the front desk even upgraded us to a suite with the gold elite status I had. Housekeeping was done each day before we returned. Beds were comfortable. If I could pick on anything at all, there are several water drainage areas int he pool area that are cracked or bent. My son pointed these out each time he saw them before entering the pool. Other than that, I could not find a flaw it I wanted to. I would definitely consider staying here if back in Columbus again.
