We stayed here in early October 2019 when it was a Holiday Inn Express, apparently it's now a Rodeway Inn. I don't know if management has changed. When we were there, the front entrance was being refaced with stone facade, we could still get in and out just had to be careful where we stepped. The front desk staff was friendly, the room was ok, the bed was comfortable and overall the room seemed clean. The only issue I had was that the sheets were short sheeted so I had to redo the entire "making the bed" on check-in. Also, they had king size dust ruffles on our queen size beds so they dragged on the floor and you had to be careful when stepping in and out of bed. The pool and hot tub were nice, the breakfast was good. I'll have to try it again now that it is a Rodeway.
Got here on a Friday afternoon, got the key card and went to our room to put of luggage in there before we went to dinner. When we walked in it smelled really bad. We turned on the ac thinking it was just stuffy and smelly from being closed up. We went to supper and when we came back it was about the same but decided to see if it got better as the evening went on. We both fell asleep and and ended up staying in the room all night. Told the desk as we were leaving about the smell and all they said was sorry. Won't be going back to this place.
Stayed here because the other Holiday Inn didn't have our reservation and it was booked. I figured it was a normal Holiday Inn and next closest so work booked it. When we got off on the second floor, it smelled horrible. It reeked of old cigarettes and the room was worse. I'm literally writing this review as my throat is closing shut because I'm allergic to cigarette smoke. I fear that I will end up sleeping in the car here shortly.
If this is my only option, I will just stay with my friends in town and sleep on their couch.
My suggestion is to find somewhere else.
We stayed one night recently. We had pre-booked with credit card points. The room was clean but the bath tub had rust around the drain and the tub did not look clean. The reservation clerk offered to show us another room but it’s tub was also bad and it smelled like cigarette smoke. Not a good outcome!
I have stayed in many Holiday Inn hotels and sadly this was one of the worst. It is terribly outdated and in need of a makeover. Our room had a terrible smell. It said non smoking on the door but I'm pretty sure that's new because the room reeked of musty old cigarettes. Thankfully the bedding was clean. The woman working at the front was friendly and polite although she didn't mention anything about us being priority club members and every other hotel always makes sure to do this. I think some changes need to be made to this hotel to bring it up to regular Holiday Inn standards.
