... manage with just two toilets and two showers in each bathroom, but it wasn't a problem, we never waited more than a few minutes. The wash pot room is brilliant, two sinks, washing up liquid and scourers etc provided. There is a freezer, and also two fridges so you can keep food in there....
... by.My daughter(bride to be) (on arriving as she travelled separately with my other daughter as the rest of us arrived earlier to decorate the room).. was over the moon with it all. I wouldnt have chosen here for a full blown noisy hen party because they dont want loud music and rowdyness,...
... not a major problem in all site friendly and dog friendly no power in the rail cabins would of been nice but there is charging ports in the wash room would advise bringing power packs for phones etc and plenty of lights plenty to do around the lake district if you dont mind the driving would go...

We have just returned from 3 nights staying at Moss Side - 4 adults and three children staying in two of the railway cabins. We had a wonderful time - the site is well maintained, with several separate fields and plenty to explore. The animals provided lots of entertainment, as did the stream and the many blackberry bushes. The family who own the farm are lovely - so helpful and engaging when we saw them.
The railway cabins were a real treat, with a double bed and bunk bed, a coffee table, two comfy chairs, and a wood burning stove. They are decorated beautifully and full of charm. The bathroom facilities are basic but clean. We wondered how everyone would manage with just two toilets and two showers in each bathroom, but it wasn't a problem, we never waited more than a few minutes. The wash pot room is brilliant, two sinks, washing up liquid and scourers etc provided. There is a freezer, and also two fridges so you can keep food in there. There was a toaster and kettle there to use too, which was very handy.
The views from every field were stunning. We would definitely go back again and would recommend it to friends. Though I would probably mention that the roads around the campsite are very narrow and winding, not great for people who get travel sick, and if you're not keen on dogs/chickens inspecting your tent this might not be the place for you!

We spent a weekend here 12th - 14th july We were having a small hen do for my daughter so being 6 of us we had the bunk house which was great located on the same block as the communal kichen and toilets and showers.Just around the side we had our private seating area complete with bbq and fire (pit were we spent both evening chatting bbqing and generally having a great time. The other campers and owners were so friendly as were their 2 dogs which were always popping by.My daughter(bride to be) (on arriving as she travelled separately with my other daughter as the rest of us arrived earlier to decorate the room).. was over the moon with it all. I wouldnt have chosen here for a full blown noisy hen party because they dont want loud music and rowdyness, but for us and the type of hen do this was, it was perfect in fabulous surroundings. thankyou very much for having us Louise, and we hope to see you again.:)

We stayed here for 3 nights in April.

The campsite is very small and quiet located outside of a small village- the perfect place to escape!

Louise was lovely friendly and helpful, letting us know where we could buy some more camping gas from!

We stayed in a rail cabin which was lovely, very spacious!
The fire kept us warm in the evenings however we would be very cold in the mornings/ middle of the night- so bring warm bedding and layers!!

The washing up room was really handy as it had a fridge, microwave and kettle- we made our porridge in there each morning!

One day we climbed Scarfell Pike which is an hours drive away (but it doesn’t feel that long as the views are incredible)

The other days we explored nearby lakes...

It’s a great place for walking!!

Found this site and used for a camping trip for four adults and two teenagers. Used as a base for trips around the lakes.
Really liked the allowance of campfires and was a deciding factor.
Small site with three camping areas and hard standing for campervan.
Friendly approachable staff and like the idea of the free use of kettle and Toaster in the pot wash room.
About a 40 min trip to Lakeside with Coniston closer.
We are like to be back to try the railway cabins.
Thanks for having us.
